She has no obligation to you other than to treat you respecfully as another human being. Friends drift apart as other priorities come up in life and you shouldn't be disappointed or pissed off - it happens all the time. Wish her well and tell her to keep in contact when she can if that's what you want.

Exactly what Muadib said. If you had a girlfriend, I think your priorities would change as well. Would your g/f like you hanging out with another girl, alone? Probably not. Anyway people change and you can't expect people to make time for you when they're in a relationship.

chances are that my girlfriend would be aware of my friendship with this girl. and there should be no cause for any sort of jealously. i understand that my friend wants to spend time with her boyfriend. I respect that. Which is why I wasn't trying to interfere. However, I would like to at least have a few hours in a month of my friends time. Is that really too much to ask?

However, it seems that next time I see her, all I'll have time to do is say "have a nice life" because I doubt i'll see her again for a long time

Hot sex with new love > friendship

Its sad but true. You should be disappointed, not pissed.

i speak from experience.

No, I'm pissed off because she doesn't seem to care about the friendship she and I have.

And you do not know me at all. You cannot "guarantee" things like that.

On her free time she rather spent it with her boyfriend than you. If you were her "friend" you should understand that. Personally I don't think guys and girls can be friends.

why do you care so much, unless you really like her?

if she is happy, then so should you.

Something like that just happened to me recently. A good friend (a best friend, actually, if you're allowed to have more than one) of about 6 years basically told me to have a nice life because he's got better things to do than spend time with me or email me. It sucks, but I'll get over it. As for your situation... for most women, boyfriend > friend (guy or girl). Almost ALWAYS.

just see if she's free for a quick lunch anytime before she leaves - if she can't give you even that much, then yes you can be disappointed and just understand that's how she values your relationship now and there's not a lot you can do about it
if she does care, she'll make time for a few hours, when hanging with her boyfriend is not an option (otherwise she'll probably pick boyfriend)
but you should let her know how you feel - sometimes in a new relationship it's easy to get wrapped up in it and also wanting to make sure that it goes well that you're willing to forgo hanging out with your own friends - even though you feel guilty about it -- talk to her, maybe she knows what she's doing and feels bad about doing it but also feels like she needs to be spending this time with him right now so that the relationship can progress to a certain stage before she leaves for china (if she's still doing that)
