Do I need a new PS?

Hello,

I have a Enermax 350w Power Supply. My PC config is

AMD 64 3000
MSI K8NGM2-FID
2 Seagate Hard Drives
1 Benq DVD RW

I just picked up the ATI Radeon X1950 Pro and am wondering if I need to upgrade or can I run it with my present PS? The thing is I only get Antec Power Supplies where I live and I would much rather wait and try and get a Seasonic if i can.

minimum recommended is 450w and 30a 12v. without some specs from your psu, its anyone guess.

many antec are made by seasonic now btw.

I think your 350 watt Enermax can handle that just fine. They recommend a 450 watt power supply because of so many cheaply made crappy power supplies that don't put out as much power as they claim. An Enermax 350 is a lot better than an El-cheapo 500.

Thank you for your replies. The PS i have is an Enermax 365AX-VE (+3.3V: 32A, +5V: 32A, +12V: 26A. I also doubt if it has a PCI E connector. PSU's available

Can you please have a look at the link and suggest the PSU I should get?

26a is a little on the weak side for what you want to run and I'd advise you to upgrade to a higher capacity enermax ps. Enermax has exceptionally strong rails however you're asking too much from your unit. BTW enermax is the only ps that I'll put in my machines.

For the system you have now, including the X1950 Pro, this Seasonic built Antec will do just fine, although I'd personally buy this one: 500 watt Antec Earthwatts, if you have any thoughts of upgrading your system any time soon.

Thank you myocardia.. I will go with the 500W Antec Enermax is not an option as it is not available where I live.
