I want to buy a new computer with Intel E4300 or higher. But I can't make a decision in the mobo whether P35 or 965.As is known to us,p35 has many lastest technology, but I think some are useless to me.Can you give me some advice?Any advice is appreciate.

For a FSB800 processor like E4300, either chipset is OK. For a FSB 1333 processor E6x50, choose P35 although some P965 motherboards work with E6x50.

P35 is more future proof than P965- 45nm support and 1333MHz FSB, but there's no such thing as future proof, by the time you want to change CPU, it might be obsolete. Since there are few non-expensive P35 boards, I would advise to go with them, just in case you decide to get quad core with 1333MHz FSB down the road. There's bad feeling when you buy new board to see it become obsolete one month later.

P35 looks to be essentially a refined 965 with a better memory controller & using ICH9/ICH9R southbridge instead of ICH8/ICH8R.
abit just released a BIOS to allow native 1333fsb CPU support on their QuadGT 965 mobo.
The only thing is that we don't know about 45nm CPU support on 965 when they come out .
In terms of raw performance P35 is maybe a couple of % better.

If you are the type of person that will buy a system now & never really upgrade the CPU throughout it's life then either will do fine.

Yeah Heidfirst is right! Also a few Asus mobos (P5B Deluxe, Commando) support CPU with 1333 Mhz bus, and I think the DFI Infinity supports it too.

And I think the P35 is more mature chipset, has a better performance.

I'm going to replace my current board & buy a pci-e DX 10 video card. I was looking at the 965/P35 chipset boards & wondering if I should get the P35. I'd like to hold the video card plus memory cost to < $150 (not a big gamer), unless I can reuse my current memory (Corsair XMS2 DDRII 675, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16820145015). With an e4400 would I be better able to use this same memory (some people are overclocking it pretty well) with one or the other chipset?

yea you can use the same memory... probably the max u can get out of the proc on air will be like 3.2 ghz... your ram should be able to handle that overclock on a 1:1.

just get the P35... you know you waaaannttt toooo
