Most likely she got the degree because it was the easiest path to attaining a degree. I guess highschools are still pushing that you need to get a college degree regardless of the subject if you want to get a good job.

Super outdated advice for the 21st century.
What other jobs are there? Anything that made a reasonable amount without a degree has been offshored by our free market lovers and are now derided by everybody, including the current president.

Millennials did not create the current income inequality problems, so no they do not deserve to suffer from it.

Wait till the TPP kicks in and hillary wins, now that they will finish off whats left of good blue collar jobs, they will start gutting the good paying white collar jobs. The only way to get a job cleaning toilets is with a college degree and a couple of good job references.

In the future American will be like Brazil or india. she will finish what her husband started and what bush continued. Sad watching ths country slowly self destruct.

Wonder why Germany didn't sign it. Ohh wait, they are "nativist" and "protectionist". They wouldn't do something so stupid.

The sad thing is an american couple is better off emigrating to germany if they want to see a better future for their child.

Good for that girl getting the hell out of San Fran. It can be 70 year olds serving coffee to Bubble tech workers and corrupt chinese expats all day long. I don't care. San Fran is the second most population dense city apparently (remember, its water locked on three sides and hasn't been able to sprawl since the 60's.)

Unfortunately I have seen no indication that she's moving, despite losing her job altogether. Instead she posted another open letter to "help" people by making the argument that San Francisco is such a culturally enabling place that everyone should be able to there comfortably on minimum wage with none of the concessions she failed to take. And that the city needs to raise the minimum wage however high it takes until that's a reality.

Now that people are giving her handouts and job offers I imagine she has every intention of staying there.

The second P in the TPP stands for Pacific...as in, the Pacific Ocean.

Last I looked at a map of Germany, it didn't have a border on any ocean, never mind the Pacific.

No shit sherlock. I was pointing out something you obviously don't get. Germany looks out for Germany first. Too bad this country is too full of people like you.

So the North Sea and Baltic Sea are no longer part of the Atlantic Ocean?

Not really. They are trying to work in a world that was ruined by the boomers. Millenials might be spoiled and whiny but they didnt deserve the deal they got.

I wouldn't call the world ruined
In terms of human history we live like kings
100years ago life expectancy was 40 and 80% of the population never traveled further than 20 miles from where they lived.
In the 50's a family had one car one TV and a much smaller house.
So while I agree this generation can expect less due to globalization it can be argued living in NA still leaves you better than 90% of the rest of the world

On college I lived on a 3.10 an hour minimum wage. As a cashier. And I had to do the math and tax in my head as we didn't have scanning cash registers and such. My degree was in telecommunications. I am doing fine today.

If Patton hadn't stopped them at Stalingrad, the Chinese would be speaking German today.
