Do multivitamins make you feel nauseated?

Does anyone know why?
Is there anything I can do other than take them during meals?

Only when I've accidently taken one on an empty stomach. I suppose I could suggest that you drink enough water since it sounds like you are already taking them around a meal.

They used too when taken on an empty stomach.

I've gotten acclimated to it now, and it no longer bothers me.

I don't feel nausiated after I take mine. My pee turns bright yellow, though.

Really depends on the multivitamin in question.
For example, Centrum normal is fine for me, but GNC Mega Men gives me ridiculous heardburn all day (unless taken with a meal).

I feel better overall with GNC though, so thats what I take.

Doesn't usually bother me, but my pregnant wife needs to take them with food or she pukes up the dinner I just cooked ... a la last night Then 5 minutes later she wanted ice cream (no pickles though!)

Does your multi have anything else in it? Some have Ginseng and other herbals, and for some people that causes stomach upset.

I have heard that the cheap/generic multivitimins can contain various amounts of vitimins in them....so in one particular pill you might get an overdose of a certain vitimin, which would make you feel sick.

Only if I take them on an empty stomach. When I was pregnant, though, I'd puke them back up if I took normal prenatal vitamins no matter what I had to eat, during the first trimester. Had to take children's chewable vitamins instead.

Also, make sure you're taking a "men's" formula (assuming you're male). Men are not supposed to take extra iron in their supplements (unless directed to by their doctor), and iron is one of the supplements that often cause nausea.

I take Centrum A to Zinc, Vitamin E, Selenium ( help reduce cancer ), and omega 3 fish oil pills

I think I function a bit better when I take them

To awnser the OP: No, and no, and the ones I take you're suppost to take with a meal.

And yeah, you're suppost to take the GNC ones with a meal, if you happen to tread the instructions (Take two with food).

FYI, it could be the B vitamins in the multi that make you sick (also what makes your urine bright yellow). I've taken all kinds of vitamins and minerals (I don't like multivitamins) and the only one that made me feel really sick for about an hour every time was regular B-50, even on a full stomach. Not just nausea, but my whole body felt terrible. I switched to time released B-50, which is a bit harder to find, and have no problems with it.

Centrum Performance (got it with a coupon) seems to be much better than the Walgreens generic vitamins I used to use. This stuff has more B vitamins, ginko, ginseng, and all kinds of crazy crap like that. When I run out of these, I think I just might spend the money and get more just like them. (The coupon worked.)

Nausea? I get that occasionally, but it happens more when I'm lacking sleep. My stomach feels messed up before I even take it under those circumstances, so when I combine it with a caffeine pill and 2-3 glasses of water before rushing out of the door running late for class, I feel like crap all morning but I'm able to concentrate reasonably well.

There's a new energy drink out that promises a "five hour rush." It's LOADED with a couple of B vitamins (B12 and I can't remember the other) with something like thousands of percent of the RDA. Even if it's a placebo effect, it works pretty well.
