"do not call" list for your state ?

Here's what I've been doing. First of all, I'm mostly out. If I'm in and the phone rings, I take a quick look at the CID display. Is that someone I know? Yes, then I pick it up. If not, I let it ring until the answering machine picks it up.

That's it. I's been a while since the last time I actually talked to a solicitor.

You just need to order CID and have an answering machine.

I signed up on the Texas list in January and it took until (I believe) June before the telemarketers were supposed to quit calling. Before, I was getting 3 to 8 calls a day. The first week or two after the list went into effect I still got a few calls a day, but now I am getting, maybe, 2 or 3 calls a week and these are mostly charities. It has made a huge difference for me. Best $5 I have spent in quite a while.

Free here in Indiana, been on the list for over a year now, an absolute god send, has reduced telemarketing calls by about 99%.

A friend of mine bought a telezapper, he used it for a month and gets next to no calls anymore, so he lent it to me. I get no calls anymore either!!! Highly recommend the device!

Been on the Connecticut list for a couple of years. Have received exactly 1 call in that time and it was a message on the answering machine. They never called back. Its free here. Something from government that actually works. :Q
