I know its not polite to ask this of members, but I was wondering if people 'in general' still smoked crack. Is it all the rage with all sectors of the population, or is it once again relegated to the urban, poverty-stricken, broken family types who brought this drug to prominence over two decades ago?
With the rise of methamphetamines and various spinoff 'designer drugs', I really don't see a market for crack anymore amongst the hip suburban youth. Plus, the well-to-do have always preferred cocaine in its purer powdered form. While crack may have enjoyed a slight resurgence in the mid-90s, purveyors and users of the drug abruptly switched to heroin with the booming economy and easier access to the drug thanks to a more open Afghani market.
