Do the Sony Vaio notebooks have Win2K drivers ?

Anyone know if the Sony Vaio notebooks have Win2K drivers ? Particularly for the built in Ethernet port and modem. There is a sticker on the notebook which says Win2K compatible, but having found out that my present Compaq notebook cannot operate in Win 2K, for modem purposes, I am trying to find out about the Sony Vaio notebooks - in advance. Thanks.

You can buy most of the new Sony notebooks with win 2000 installed.
Just add a "K" to the end of the model number if i remember correctly.

This is the model PCGZ505LS, and comes preinstalled with WinME or 98. But DOES day Win 2K comaptible on the sticker. I know Win2K is not presently installed, but I would be happy to dual boot it. The Point is that I want Win2K drivers to be able to utilize the modem and networking port. Then I would shift from the Compaq, which will not support Win2K ( I have tried much) and go with the Sony - which will hopefully have the drivers.
Any data is appreciated

If the machine did not come with Win2k installed, you are going to have a hard time locating compatible Win2k drivers for a dual-boot.

this isnt a complete answer to ur question but i hope it helps; it appears that most of the vaio series would support win2k because they sell a more expensive (But exactly the same hardware wise) version of the laptop. i assume you could buy a 98 machine and put 2k; if they sell a 2k machine just like it already.

well yea most.. if your model was a non win2k model and very new, win2k drivers might take a while to come out.. sony is slow, and lousy on driver updates, and paranoid about their software. Its like they want to make it hard to users that know anything about computers to find and install drivers etc sorta why i don't like sony so much. just check their website.
