Do they have PCMCIA xDsl modems

I was just wondering... i'm sure 3com has to make one they make everything. And im aware of USB modems thats great if you want to haul that thing around the house... LMK if you know.

I don't know man, that's an awful lot of power circuitry. At best it would probably stick out from the slot a little. Maybe about the size of a LAN adapter?

Not that I know of. Every DSL modem I have ever seen hooks up to the computer's NIC with Cat5 cable. All you need is a PCMCIA NIC for your laptop and any currently available DSL modem will work with you machine.

The trick with a DSL "modem" is that it is actually a router.

Even today, to be able to route at a few MBps, you need a decent little processor in there. Plus, I think they consume a bit of juice because of that and the transmission. Dunno. It's an interesting question.

I don't think it would be easy (and it would be expensive) to put all that power in a lil PCMCIA card.

Maybe a type III card (two slots wide) but it may still stick out... might as well get a USB type.
