I imagine Hardocp is going to get the card first. And since it's Friday, it will take them at least a day to do all the bench marks and write up the article.
/facepalm
Do you think that while nVidia is doing their dog & pony show at PAX East, armed guards with Zero Halliburton briefcases handcuffed to their arms containing the sample cards are knocking on the doors of the offices of all the major hardware sites, delivering them for testing and we'll have to wait only a day for a full benchmark suite to be conducted and then the reviews written, edited and posted?
Really?
Here's what's actually happening: HardOCP, Tom's, AT - all the major sites - received either reference boards or finished retail product at least a week ago and testing has been going up
under NDA since then. The articles are written and all the sites are doing now is waiting for the NDA to expire at which time a dozen simultaneous reviews will be posted.
If things were done the way you suggest, some sites would be rush to be first with a couple of benchmarks in order to garner page views, regardless of accuracy. Some site last summer burst into the mainstream with a so-called "review" of the Palm Pre which was clearly based off a beta testing unit that the writer shouldn't have had access to. Based on this joker's incomplete "testing" - he didn't even try making a call; it may not have been able to - he wrote some damaging things which were picked up and parroted by supposedly respectable journalistic outlets and damage was done to the phone's image because someone had to be first without bothering to be right or accurate.
