I was going to mention Matt Damon, but I guess he's already 42. :'( Tom Cruise doesn't age, so I think he'll be around for my grand kids. I'm more concerned of who could possibly fill in for the beloved Tom Hanks. I've been watching him since I was a kid and even saw Turner and Hooch in theaters! :wub:

I'll throw Ryan Gosling out there since I thought he did well in "Half Nelson" and "Blue Valentine". And I actually liked "Drive", but I know it's one of those movies you either like or really, really hate.

Ryan Gosling is going to be the next Brad Pitt. All the woman think he the hottest thing. My wife so wants to see his next movie Gangster Squad.

Uh, what? He is 35 and was decent in Lawless, but nothing memorable after that. Are you are talking about his role as Bane? He didnt speak a word during that movie, he had a mask on the entire time...ANYONE could have played that part.

Bronson, Inception, and Warrior come to mind. Vastly different parts but well done. He's an extremely versatile and talented actor imo.

I think Ryan Reynolds has a lot of potential but he's been pretty well pigeonholed since Van Wilder. Not exactly super young either.

Maybe Zac Efron. I think his breakout roles in stuff like High School Musical gave a bad first impression to a lot of people, but he hasn't had much of a chance outside it.

Any of the "Harry Potter" kids. Again, pigeonholed early on though and need something to prove themselves on.

Joseph Gorden Levitt and Jeremy Renner is in everything these days and taking over for more older actors.

And I certainly hope Shia Leboufs isn't one cuz he's ruined a lot of movies.

For females, I guess Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone.

Renner is in his 40's... so not sure if he counts.

I didn't realize he played Vaako in Chronicles of Riddick (and apparently they're making another Riddick movie...)

Woah, forgot about that role. The ridiculous hair helps confuse recognition though.

Here's to hoping the new Riddick film is even better than the previous films. Not that I didn't absolutely love Pitch Black and Chronicles, but if it gets a little more oomph to the new film, the star power and reception of the film could easily skyrocket. It has the chance.

Apparently, it's the same exact team behind the previous ones. With a little more experience and maturity of the ideas, it stands a chance to be even better.


Also: Thandie Newton ... I wouldn't mind seeing a little more of her in the film.
Though, it does not appear she is to be in the new film.
Katee Sackhoff, however, will be. I can handle that.


I wonder where the new film ultimately falls in the overall story. I never saw the animated film... it would be cool to know what happens with Riddick as the grand ruler. But that could also simply be the "ending" for the series, with all other story points leading up to it.

Karl Urban's in plenty of action films, mostly as a supporting actor. He was the lead in that Judge Dredd remake and it bombed.

I don't think he's ever going to be big enough to replace the aforementioned Hollywood A-listers.
