I would. I think it's a great idea. I also think that having a sticky thread for reviews and other stuff isn't really the best way to have the information up there, especially since non-subscribers can't search inside threads. Unless I'm actively involved in a thread, I usually don't even bother reading most of the really long ones.

I think the flame wars can be a bit funny - fighting over processors for cryin' out loud! Let's fight over Crest vs Colgate next, or McDonald's vs Burger King!
I think the forums are fine the way they are.

uh oh, time for me to put in my $0.02. . .

I think that THUGSROOK and Duvie both have excellent suggestions, and that there ought to be and "AMD cpu Forum," an "Intel cpu Forum," and a "Memory Forum" instead of our rather dated generic "CPU/Processors and Overclocking" forum.

See, isn't that easy?

Just because YOU don't care doesn't make it clutter. One person's trash is another person's treasure.
The video, memory, etc.... you complain about is an integral part of CPU support and performance. If you separate this, you get nothing but a VERY
boreing thread regurgitating spec. sheets for processors. We can read these at the Intel and AMD websites. This forum should be a place to discuss
and compare the USAGE of CPUs and that requires addressing the system as a whole.

These efforts to stifle opinions, and structure threads to tilt the discussion in one favor or another are ridiculous!
If anyone can't handle seeing a differing point of view, they should be reading spec. sheets.... not forums.

OK I didn't want to start a flame war but don't be an fing moron!!! You obviously have reading comprehension problems...reread it again I am not dismissing any of that then to say cpu/ocing with all of that is too wide range and is a good reason ocing should be separated from cpu to cover all components...if we are talking about integral components in conjunction with non oced cpus this should be in mobo forum, general hardware forum, etc but not here...Why I also suggested a memory forum cause there is so much interest in memory related threads...

btw...less filling...

but honestly...something gotta be down...user reviews seems good...intel/amd is good also...

I'm indifferent, if you guys don't post it here you'll post it somewhere else and I'll read it there It would be a significant loss to these forums but quite honestly some of the posts here have the feel of "strong arming" the management and that's not likely to force capitulation but rather a stance of self-determination by them on what content belongs where. Anywho, I'm interested in how this plays out so time to get a bag of popcorn and enjoy the proceedings

I think that is is a good idea. It will make it easier for us to focus on the information that we are interested in.

IMHO the forum structure is fine the way it is. You read the threads that you are interested in (Intel/AMD/etc) and skip the rest.

and its not about that.

its about making this a better place ~ and we would like a little cooperation, thats all.
it would be a shame if management wasnt interested.

The members that have thus far voiced in opinion appear to be divided on the topic of keeping the current format or moving to seperate forums, perhaps you should make/take a poll to get a better idea of wether or not there is a majority view/ grass roots movement that seperate forums are indeed a "better" idea.

yea, this forum has really lost its luster the last few months. I thought it was due to lack of new and interesting hardware, but there really is a lot of clutter in the forum. I'd hate to separate out AMD and Intel only because we are finally seeing some new exciting products from both. I think this will revitalize the forum and clean it up. I don't know how separate cpu and overclocking forums is going to help. Maybe a new forum specifically for polls, results, experiences related to overclocking, but for no questions or troubleshooting.

I very much prefer the one, non-denominational forum approach. That's a big part of why I like the AT forum. Honestly, eventhough I have 2 AMD setups right now, I have been reading more of the Intel-oriented content (Canterwood, etc. is the interesting topic du jour). And a lot of that is because it catches my attention, and not because I sought it out. I don't have the luxury of daily infinite hours to peruse all the forum sections I would like to as it is. There are obviously tradeoffs between the efficiency of specialized content and the potential emergent synergy of keeping it all together. I favor the latter. If there were differences between AMD and Intel flavors on the scale of mountain biking versus road riding, I would say make the split. But in this case, it's all computing.

I would like to have 2 forums AMD and Intel
or maybe 3 "OC for intel" "OC for AMD" and then justs "CPU/Processors"
i think 3 would be the best
but two would be better then what we have now
just keep in mind that there are other CPU then AMD and Intel.... Like VIA
