I'm open to the idea, and am pretty convinced they are... but I have no clue how to explain them, and they don't really fit in any way into my views on life and the universe. The whole spirit/soul thing... it just doesn't make sense, yet I cannot explain away what I believe to be real.
It could simply just be the mind playing tricks when you have the mindset that it could be a possibility, but I don't know.
I have not directly seen a ghost, but have heard/witnessed something.
I've heard my name called out, from my parents room, in a raspy voice, that could be described as sounding windy, as if it were the wind. Meanwhile, my family was downstairs, I was in the bathroom (upstairs). Voice was distinctly from my parents room, which is the master bedroom. House is over 80 years old, first one built in the neighborhood. And my parents were honest when they said they hadn't said a thing. I was creeped out like no other before my parents said that, because I knew it wasn't my imagination of hearing something from one direction when it was from another direction.
Same bedroom, when my parents got a VHS camcorder (cannot remember if this was first in the experiences, or second to the above), I played around with it in their bedroom. I just kind of panned 360, first time around, in a specific corner, I got quite a bit of static on the display, cannot remember if it covered the whole screen. I panned around again, and yet again, in that same corner, I get static. BUT, the static had moved to a different area in the corner, it wasn't a dead-on spot both times around.
I've heard random noises in the house, but cannot to this day explain it completely as either just an old house creaking or as paranormal. I've heard the house creak in a way that is definitely just the framework making noises (like I said - old house, a few railroad tracks nearby, and wind gusts just kind of echo through the walls).
Other things I've witnessed, I won't go into detail because I can't quite even work out the details to explain - but also because I haven't convinced myself one way or the other. Just strange visual evidence that could either be mind playing tricks, or genuine experiences.
About the only way I can work any of this into my current logic/beliefs/science regarding life and everything in the universe... is if we just don't have a full comprehension regarding other spatial dimensions and/or there exist parallel universes/4th dimension parallels. Specifically, regarding the possibility of life that we have no true way of documenting/discovering evidence, but for some reason we experience flashes where they are evident in strange ways in our world.
That, or I've been completely wrong and somehow there is some strange version of an afterlife, possibly where we just jump into another parallel universe/4th dimension parallel. But I don't want to believe that dammit - this life is supposed to be the only life we get, I don't want to keep living after I die, in some strange world where we get to do it all over again. Fuck that! :laugh:
