Its not so much a double standard as much as Israel is seen as a much more stable government, much more predictable.

In other words, their Gov't more closely resembles out own, and therefore them seem more safe and predicable with nuclear weapons: The US doesn't fear that Israel will decide that God's will involves their nuking the world into oblivion . . . whereas Osama and the religious dictatorships that support and/or applaud his actions do seem the type to rashly and stupidly use nukes.

So its a double standard, but its not an Judaism vs. Islam thing as much as a representative govt vs religious dictatorship thing.
