No. By that definition I can remember 3 occasions where I 'binge drink'. But yeah, 5 drinks over 2 hours is pretty tame.

5 drinks over the course of a couple hours? wtf how is that binge drinking? i'd barely get a buzz at all if i did that.

You sound like your college age, and drink with Bravado! If this is the case then binge drinking doesn't apply to you, your a full fledged alcky, binge drinking would be a step backwards for you:biggrin:

Been there, done that. And in a strange perverted "Blutarsky" way you are probably much less dibilitated by higher blood alcohol than mere mortals, you have developed a tolerence though continious conspicous consumption.

But beware there is a toll that must be paid, and the longer you wait to heal thyself and pay the toll the heftier it will be

by these standards, i pretty much 'binge drink' everytime i drink, as does every single person that i konw and have ever been around while drinking.

i'll do it about once a week on average.

There is a reason why 2 people in a relationship is called a couple.

Most people in the free, English-speaking world interpret "couple" as two.

"Few" generally means 3.

Few does not generally or necessarily mean three, it refers to an an indeterminate but low number. While 3 can be few, few is not necessarily 3 at all.

And while the noun "couple" by itself refers to a pair or two, exactly, the idiomatic phrase "a couple of" most definitely means a low indeterminate number which is NOT necessarily two at all, but is rather synonymous with "a few".

How can so many of you folks know so little about your own language?

i go out 2-3 times a week. i'm around 230 lbs to.. if i weighed 110 lbs, 5 drinks would be alot more. at my weight, i have to drink like 3-4 beers in a hour to feel something. Granted i couldn't maintain this pace, if i spaced those beers out to 3-4 hours i wouldn't feel anything. i am getting older however and more prone to hangovers than i used to be... wtf is up with that?!?!

Not anymore.

I had my fair share of drunken episodes in university and for a few years beyond (although not that often, as I was busy running and studying).

In the last couple of months though, something has changed. I no longer feel that I need alcohol. And when I'm out with my wingmen concentrating on approaching women, I need to be sharp, so I don't drink at all. None of them do either.

It's an amazing feeling to be downtown for several hours on a Friday night, pumped up on adrenaline and camaraderie but sober as a judge. I can talk to whomever I want and let other people feel my amazing energy and yet still notice all the subtleties going on around me.

Even out with my other friends, I'll only have 2-3 drinks in an evening at the most, and have non-alcoholic beverages the rest of the time. I don't need alcohol to get myself into an incredible state, and nights out are so much cheaper now.

Man you guys are all lushes!

5-6 drinks isn't binge drinking but its definitely excessive. Ok, I'm an old man now, but even in college 5-6 drinks in two hours was plenty to make me toasty. I guess it depends on the alcohol too. Lite beer doesn't count. That stuff is just stinky water. But beer at 5% alcohol, wine at 12% alcohol, or liquor is really a drink.

Just be careful, and be responsible.
