I only buy online if its a brand that I know their sizing well. Like Levi's I have no problem ordering more online. Certain shirt makers I know well. In general no. Too many factors that are hard to quantify online. If it fits, does it hang right? What is the material weight? Is it soft or rough? Etc, etc.

I buy some clothes online. I have very long arms and a huge neck, and a long torso, also I am somewhat fat. Therefore, only things that are size 3XL tall will fit me correctly, or shirts with a 22 inch neck but where the body is like that of a
18 inch neck shirt.

The worst is trying to buy a jacket that fits.

Essentially I would need something with sleeves as long as a 5x, the rest of the jacket is as long as a 4x, but, as rotund as a 3x, with a neck area as big around as a 6xl.

One of these days I'll learn not to buy shoes online. Amazon makes returns free and easy so I bought 3 pairs of shoes last year. Didn't keep a single pair.

I have had success buying t-shirts.

Occasionally, but IMO, it's a crap-shoot. There seems to be no accurate standard for sizing, so every manufacturer's XXL is a bit different. Even 18-1/2/36 for long sleeve shirts doesn't mean much. Same with shoes. I have "Flintstone feet," and have to have VERY wide shoes...4E is best. Some manufacturers fit...others not so much.

While I like the savings that USUALLY come with buying on-line, if it doesn't fit and I have to pay to return the item, any possible savings just went out the window.

I buy almost everything online. Anything 'new' (I am not talking about buying used clothes, but things I haven't tried before) I will usually pick up first locally (usually if I something cool on sale like the Robert Graham shirt and Hugo Boss jeans I got for last New Years; two items I wouldn't have considered otherwise. Robert Graham shirts are very cool though...a ton of attention to detail even in the parts you don't see) for fit and then once I confirm my size; I hunt future purchases down online.

The savings on things like shoes is substantial, things like underwear and socks not so much the money, but you save on time and aggravation.

Even nice places like Saks and Neiman Marcus can be craptastic experiences when some dreg of society is trying to make a scene beyond their pay grade.

I was at a Creed cologne counter and some assmunch was demanding two of every sample and the chick with him as well. They just walked up straight to the counter while I was being helped and barged right in. They almost had to call security, but the dickbags gave up and took off when someone went to the phone.

Levi's lately have been hit or miss though. I buy the same cuts and sometimes they come like a size or more off. The waist it's not so bad, but sometimes the length is off drastically. I don't see any marks on them as if they were seconds or imperfect (no branding, no cuts in the tags or material, etc) so I don't know. I have experienced this in the retail stores as well. Levi's isn't the only culprit, just one of my regular staples.

For those that like high end clothing and accessories: Belle and Clive is a really good mail list to be on.

Ha, again? That works. Maybe this time we'll be better prepared

Heh, well it worked out fine. I'll shoot you a PM; unfortunately I am really only available on two days, so not sure it will work out.

I buy my pants from 5.11Tactical. They are great pants that really stand up well with what I put them through (I work in construction, but spend most of my time in the office so still have to look decent).

I have to buy everything but t-shirts, socks, and underwear online. People are always like "geez I wish I was that tall!" while looking up at my 6'9" nerdiness but the truth is... no, you don't.

Yup. Running gear from Road Runner sports, or Runners Warehouse, work clothes from Backcountry.com or Steep and Cheap. I hate going into stores and trying clothes on. No thanks.

Yes, except for pants. Whenever I do buy clothes, it's usually Amazon if they have it.

With an Amazon Prime membership, buying shoes is no problem. They pay for return shipping, so it's no more hassle than boxing them back up, printing a label and dropping at the nearest Mailboxes Etc. I find shoes to be much easier than most other clothing as far anticipating sizing and fit.

And another very high recommendation for CheapesTees.com. Outstanding prices.

I buy pretty much all my clothes online anymore. Ill wait till they hit clearance/outlets and buy then. jeans i just buy the same ones pretty much so no worry on size. T-shirts Large almost always fits me perfectly. I just find it so much better to shop a sale/clearance online and know exactly what they have in my size vs going to a store

I've never bought any clothes online. Would I? T-shirts, socks, underwear maybe. Definitely not pants, dress shirts, or anything else like that. I must come in a non-standard size or something. I always get clothes for Xmas. My mom thinks I don't dress well enough apparently, even though I have lots of quality clothing that I wear daily. The stuff she buys often doesn't quite fit, even if it's my "size". Shirts are always too long in the sleeves. I really have to try stuff on.

hellz to the yes. socks, underwear and t-shirts. and sneakers. i've only had to return one pair of sneaks for a poor fit.

i started wearing champion performance tech boxer briefs last year. after ages wearing cotton boxer briefs. it changed my life. if you do not go to Amazon right now and buy Champion Performance Tech underwear you will be missing out on an enhanced chapter of your underwear wearing life.

but seriously, it's that much better than cotton.

I buy pretty much everything online, the only time I'll go out is if stuff is cheaper in the shop. I hate being around too many people.

I have several pairs of those. Good for keeping the boys nestled and the long version makes a decent biking undershort. But for good old fashioned free-balling air-cooled comfort, I still prefer cotton or cotton blend boxers (not boxer briefs).

Only if they have an in-store return policy or covers for return shipments. I bought two things from Sports Authority online since they had an awesome sale but apparently addias doesn't tell you "Medium" size is actually "Dwayne The Rock Johnson Medium" size. Returned it in store.

depends, but most of the time no, sizes vary too much, even between the same manufacturer.

I don't buy any clothes online unless it's something that I know will fit, like certain brands of t-shirts, underwear, etc. I'm doing most of my shopping online these days, but I still like to go to B&M stores for clothes so I can try them on.
