Spidey has a distorted view of reality, and I never understood why until I read his posts in the Shroom thread. It explains alot about Spidey. Evidently his keen situational awareness comes from hallucenagenic drugs. I guess if I lived in Spideys town I would have to consider a CCW, nothing like gun nuts on the loose with 5 hits of LSD in them.

Personally I thank my friends regularly for taking responsibility for my childs safety.

Yeah, I'll stick with my friends...none of whom carry guns around in their own homes. BTW-A number of my closest friends are also gun owners but you'd never find a gun in their homes that isn't locked up unloaded...nor would you find them packin' heat when I bring my family over.

It's kind of funny actually. One of my friends, who I've known for 2 decades now, actually moved out of CA up to Bend, OR because he liked the gun laws there and wanted to make a life up there for him and his wife but after 2 years he moved back here, bought a house and started a family. This guy owns probably 40 guns and he lives in Long Beach down near the water in a nice area. He just couldn't find work up there.

I'll see him next weekend as we're all getting together to BBQ some meat and watch some football.

None of us will be armed.

Meh, at our BBQs/parties it's unusual for somebody to not have one on their hip. And this is in the suburbs.

I had a carry permit for 5 years and it just expired. Basically if I get to the point I gotta carry rule of law won't be an issue and I'll be strapping a full auto rifle with 180 rd load out.

What does a person carrying a gun have to be paranoid about?

How about element of surprise. If I were a stone cold killer I would not let you draw like the movies, you'd be dead to remove that weapon threat. Also, If someone sticks a gun in your face now they got two guns to commit further crimes. One you just gave them.

I shoot competitively both in three gun and in USPSA but sure as shit don't think I can draw faster than someone can pull a trigger. If someone wants you dead you'll be dead no matter training.
