That can be a bottomless pit too depending on how involved you want to be. With any kind of collection, it's best to specialize. You only have so much time, money, and room for old junk :^D
Yes that's definitely true. You can spend thousands hunting down some of the more obscure systems. To say nothing about the game libraries on each. I'm thinking of just collecting the big name systems (Atari 2600, NES, SNES, PC Engine, etc etc..) and for each only a handful of games. I do plan on specializing in a few areas though. For example it would be great to have a really mint Mario and Zelda game collection. If you try hard enough you can get them in their original boxes with manuals and everything, but as you said that starts getting expensive. This is one of the reasons I like visiting thrift stores. And I have my computer hardware habit to feed too.
