Do you curse in front of/to your parents?

I think I learned my lesson about addressing my parents properly when I was like 4 and found out that my Mom and Dad had actual real names. I kept calling my dad by his first name for about a week despite him completely ignoring me. I think I finally got spanked and that was the end of that.

LOL... that's cute, I can picture a 4-year-old calling his father by his first name for a little while. Strange thing is, my s/o has always called his parents by their first names. He's never called them "Mom" or "Dad". Both his brothers also call their parents by their first names... strange.

That is very strange, but maybe in a way shows how close their family is.

I would feel so awkward.

I curse in front of my father, sometimes with him, sometimes at him (pending on the escalation of anger we move past words and onto physical fighting). I never have, nor will I ever, curse in front of or to my mother.

i never cursed when i lived at home with my parents.. but now i do it all the time. I curse in front of them as well. My mom and i have this relationship where we can call each other bitch and know its not meant as an insult. But i would never say it as an insult anyways.

I remember saying yelling, "Damn!" when I was playing a video game. My mom was in the room and told me to stop cursing, especially in the house.

I would say "sucks" as in "this movie really sucks" or "crap" as in "this restaurant's food is crap." But nothing more profane than that.

To swear at them? NEVER.
