Lots of ATOT-ers whose parents raised them right. I won't allow my kids to curse/swear in front of (especially not at) me... basic respect. It shocks me when I hear kids talking back to their parents in stores... saw a kid who didn't look older than 13 in Target the other day say, "make me, d!ckhead" to his dad, and it made me sad.
Oh, man, if I had a son and he said something like that to me (and in public, no less), there would be hell to pay.
I think I learned my lesson about addressing my parents properly when I was like 4 and found out that my Mom and Dad had actual real names. I kept calling my dad by his first name for about a week despite him completely ignoring me. I think I finally got spanked and that was the end of that.
LOL... that's cute, I can picture a 4-year-old calling his father by his first name for a little while. Strange thing is, my s/o has always called his parents by their first names. He's never called them "Mom" or "Dad". Both his brothers also call their parents by their first names... strange.
That is very strange, but maybe in a way shows how close their family is.
I would feel so awkward.
