Do you decorate your home for Christmas/holidays?

The weather is nice today so I put up Christmas lights outside my house. I usually put up a couple strands of lights in the front of the house, and a Christmas tree in December. I don't really have any other decorations. Do you decorate for Christmas?

Got the tree last night. Put in in the stand. I'm done. The wife and kid can handle the rest since I'll be the only one that will water the tree.

Nope, we don't even put up a tree. My wife and I hate all the commercialism of Christmas and just want to spend some quality time with our kids and not worry about decorating or taking them down after the event. Now we leave town for a week or ten days and avoid the relatives we don't want to spend time with, while having a good time.

a little... I'll have lights on the inside of the big bay window in my kitchen, and maybe along the banister on the front porch.

I might also get a wreath for the front door and a small fake free for inside (like, 2-3').

Tree, garland along the stairs, wreath and lights out front, fireplace stockings, some Santa and snowmen figures around the house.

We enjoy it.

Yes I do. I was actually going to start today, but I'm totally not motivated. We still don't even have any snow, it just does not feel like Christmas time. Not that snow really has anything to do with the true meaning of Christmas, but I've always associated it anyhow. Nothing like seeing a couple feet of snow drifting off the roof with it lit up. We just don't see that anymore. Its been a few years now that we don't have much snow and we get it very late, like 3+ months late. Too much pollution and green house gases are to thank for that.

I will probably decorate next week when I'll be off for more than a day. I'll also be helping my mom decorate the church. Maybe that will get me into the spirit more.

One of these years I want to put lights in my blue spruce. I'd have to rent some kind of scoop/lift machine for that. Should be fun.

Yes, and I wish we didn't do half of it. At least a dozen of those big white wire lighted reindeer in the front yard. Lining the sidewalk with stupid lit up snowmen. Garland on the railing, bows all over the place. Some stupid arbor that you have to walk under. 50 billion trips into the attic above the garage. Then, "where the hell are all the extension cords??" But, that's only half as bad as taking all the stuff down and putting it away, since I know it'll be 20 below when I have to do that.

Tree inside - I don't mind it a bit.

By the sound of it, I can't see why anybody would want to spend time with your joyful family.

Code enforcement goes ape-shit if lights are up for over 90 days. Even so I usually take mine down in March. :awe:
