Anyone want to give me a reason why I shouldn't get a scarf? I've never worn a scarf in my life but they seem like a nice accessory, in addition to making your appearance more stylish...

Having been called a metrosexual (and homosexual...) too many times to count, I can say with confience that those three are very neutral scarves and standard with today's attire. The second one is a bit "out" there due to the color clashing of darks with yellow/amber; this isn't bad though, it'd add a nice accent to a dark jacket. Out of all of them, number 3 should work best with a black pea coat.

Ever since I got a wool pea coat I've been wearing a scarf with it. It's a nice accessory and keeps your neck warm. it also adds a splash of color/variety to otherwise nondescript charcoal pea coat/jeans.

it's great to have to wrap around my entire face/head and fold down a slit for my eyes when it's cold and windy out.

I wear one about 3-4 times a year. Very similar pattern to the one you linked, but with some blue in it.
