Both. 1997 Escort with a 5sp Manual and a 1998 Intrigue with a 4sp Auto. Don't care. Both are equally driveable though the Intrigue is quicker and has a much better interior.

My daily driver (2004 mach 1) is a 5spd manual. I kinda feel like you're not really driving if the car is doing all the work for you. I also have a 1994 mustang gt automatic trans with a shift kit, while it's still pretty fun to drive, it's not my preference. Also drive a 2005 dodge ram, auto with a chip. Fun fun fun to drive and fun to roast the tires Still though, not my preference. Stop and go traffic is just a minor annoyance here.

Auto. My commute makes a stick pointless and I would have to drive an hour out of the city to get somewhere without traffic and stoplights all over the place.

I drive both.
My TSX is auto with the paddles. It's ok. Works for most driving but not for performance driving. It's a highway cruiser.
My miata is 6 speed manual. I enjoy driving it almost always except in heavy traffic. I'll get used to it in traffic if I drove more in traffic

I've only owned manuals. Granted, I've driven autos for work/when I was in HS (parents cars) so I'm pretty confident in my auto driving skillz!

Autos are boring to me. I sat in traffic for 45 minutes to drive 10 miles to work this morning. Even so, I wouldn't trade my manual for the world. I just like it. Some people just want to get from A to B in a car but for me, I want to enjoy that time from A to B.

Even in traffic, is it really that hard to clutch-in and out??

3 pedals but one of them is the parking brake... I'd like to see a stick out pull me with the same mods though, this 6.7L cummins 6 speed auto is quick!

I am driving a rental 2011 yaris auto right now. Audi... in shop for broken cat sigh.

As for the yaris even in LA traffic I'd get a manual. this feels like the worst car ever. Like driving in a tub of jello . I guess the difference between a good auto with a decent engine vs well this 4 speed 103 HP awfulness is huge.

And this thing stickers for $16k!

I think you could put a rocket engine in a Yaris and it'd still suck! Lol. What's the Audi in the shop for?

Yes it is. I'm tired of driving manual transmission all the time for everywhere I go. I don't need to have fun driving tired home from work. My next car will definitely be auto.

Catalytic converter broke under warranty so they are fixing it free
Not sure what broke but it trips the check engine light. Guess how much a catalytic converter costs new out of pocket for a current gen a4. If you said $750 you are right .
My audi experience thus far has been pretty meh.

I do need to make a rant or maybe just random thought. I looked up how much a yaris like my rental costs new and its ~$16k. That is insane. this might be the worst car i've ever driven . center gauge cluster is awful. plastics are awful. 4 speed auto is awful. engine is a buzzy underpowered pile of awful. A/C knobs are awful. it looks awful. I would seriously question the sanity or brain power of anyone who bought this new. Hell for a car this small the gas milage of 29/35 (and you' have to drive it like a grandma to get that, not say flooring it constantly to not get killed on the LA freeway) is also pretty terrible. I can say one good thing about this car. And that is for a car this small exterior wise, it is pretty roomy and feels really big inside (the front windshield is really really big, you can see everything i'd say the exact opposite of this would be the current camaro which is tiny inside for a giant car with a relatively crappy visibility windshield.)

That said I'm not certain but this car has to be the worst in its class. I mean, what else is there, I guess a fiesta, mazda2, fit, scion xA, and chevy sonic, the fiat 500, maybe ? I've ridden in a fiesta and I know that car is a lot better and im fairly certain the others are too (well probably not the xA which is basically the same car). I've got to say every late model toyota i've been in (corolla, camry and this yaris really, i've all had as rentals) were fairly terrible cars compared to whats out there. sorry toyota the fr-s ain't saving you.

07 Accord 6-6, handles like a pig but will get to 60 in under 6 seconds and do 35MPG on the freeway.
