This combo is a different mobo. Maybe they finally ran out of the p4m800 s. This one takes pciX and ddr2. Looks like its the retail cpu with hsf. They just had the deal with the d805 for $79 so its getting down there. Dual core will not be denied!

X2 3800+ is also usually available for $10 more. They had the same D925 (I'm not sure which MB) for $100 a few weeks back too.

The MB has PCI-E, not PCI-X. Totally different.

They often give this MB out with E6600s.

I really wish these Fry deals were available on the east coast. A bare oem cpu (e4300) from places like newegg costs more than the cpu+mobo combos from Frys.

lol seriously. i worked there in the summer ('06) and they told us there were 33 stores in 7 states (iirc)...they say they've got stores in only 4 states on the site

Muse, i would say it's strictly B&M. outpost.com and Fry's electronics are not the same thing; they are two different companies. they basically have similar stuff and advertise each other. a few differences between the two...sometimes prices differ (usually outpost is cheaper but not always the case); all sale items are not the same; employees cannot receive discounts via outpost, only B&M.

I've found just the opposite. The deals in B&M are usually at least 10-15% cheaper when they have common deals across both.

I do have to wonder if the changing of outpost.com to Frys.com will make the two closer together? I've not checked whether they started charging tax yet.

They charge sales tax if you reside in a state where they have a store (California, Texas, etc). They always have. This was true for outpost.com and now for frys.com.

As long as we're off topic , what I want to know is why don't they just offer the same deals onling at Outpost that they do at the B&M Fry's? They quite obviously price items "to go" by thinking they don't have much mark up, but will do well by shear volume of units sold. So why can't I get a good combo online? They don't even offer the same combo deals online. If their thinking is "volume" why wouldn't they want even more east coasters to buy their stuff? Baffles me (but I'm not a marketing guy, so someone can shed some light if they wish.)
