Not a fan of Chipotle. Kind of bland, and it has a weird, machine taste. Maybe the way they cook the rice or tortilla.

There's so many other small restaurants you can find the Bay Area that are much better.

As for chains... I like Baja Fresh better. I also love El Pollo Loco family meals... where you create your tacos.

Oh look, someone from the Bay Area is critical of a popular restaurant chain. I'm shocked I tell you.

Haha yes, two self proclaimed Chipotle experts. They ordered for me but I just didn't like it. I also recently went to Panera Bread for the first time. My sandwich was ok but not great. They did have a decent selection of goodies though so I'll go back there and try them out.

Panera Bacon Turkey Bravo

I ate there once. My burrito was dry and horrible. I couldn't even eat it. Felt like such a waste of money, I didn't want to risk eating there again.

Moe's is terrible. But you're near Atlanta. Willy's is good and better than Chipotle and Moe's. You can't go wrong with Willy's pork burrito.

Baja fresh makes me instantly ill.

It tastes fine though.

I was pretty disappointed by going to a Chipotle after all the hype.

It was a decent quality but relatively mediocre experience. Not nearly as good as some of the local burrito shops (and I'm talking in New England, not SoCal)

That being said I can see how delivering fast, mediocre but consistent burritos has a pretty big market associated with it- just like delivering fast, mediocre coffee or anything else

Yeah, around here, I'll go to Anna's or Boca Grande where I have more options for fillings, bigger burritos for less money than Chipotle's bland food.

Don't know about tacos but I could NEVER say their burritos or burrito bowls are "small portions."

I'm stuffed to a degree of "perfectly satiated, if not a tad over" without feeling "omg naptime" carb-overloaded.

If you can, you should reevaluate your current lot in life, namely the circumference of your body. (or, if you have an intensive training plan and need to feast on 3500 calories a day - good for you, keep at it!)

I don't know about their Burritos, as I don't particularly care for burritos. Their steak tacos are actually really good, it's just that they are no bigger than a taco you would get from somewhere like Taco Bell or Jack in the Box. Only difference is at Chipotle they charge you 5x the price per taco and consider two of them to be a meal. I'm pretty sure eating two Taco Bell sized tacos isn't 3500 calories but maybe I'm wrong.

For twice the price too. I'm not counting the more authentic Mexican places (I like/love El G and La Costa).

Had Freebirds yesterday for the first time.. Came away unimpressed. Only thing they had going for it was the Spanish rice. Someone ahead of me got monster nachos and they looked amazing so I may have to go back for that. Chicken burrito was meh though as the chicken didn't look like it was seasoned in any fashion.

I love Chipotle. I eat there 3 or 4 times a week.

Chipotle's exponential growth, as well as year over year same store sales and stock prices clearly demonstrate that if you don't like Chipotle, you're wrong.

I've made my peace with chipotle. 3 hard chicken tacos and water = $7 and change. The guac/chips/drink is where all the markup is.

I've only eaten there a few times. It's not terrible, but way overpriced IMO. Especially since I live in the valley and there are a ton of mom & pop mexican restaurants and taco trucks I could get a better tasting burrito from for cheaper.

Average is $6 for a loaded burrito, Chipotle is $9. A $3 markup for undoubtedly higher quality ingredients.

Exactly. There's no beating chipotle for value. You can't even do it cheaper yourself.

I most certainly could not make 3 hard shell tacos w/ cilantro rice, grilled chicken, peppers/onions, 2 kinds of hot sauce, sour cream, and cheese for < $8.

I could make 30 hard shell tacos for an average price of less than $2.50 each, sure, but that's kinda the point...

I dunno, living in CA guac is an everyday thing for me (and I sure as fuck aint paying the $1.75 markup or w/e). Just need the sour cream/cheese.

:\

I can get larger burritos with more options with great taste for less than Chipotle. Overpriced for bland food.

I don't even understand why you want a larger burrito.

I guess if you REALLY want to you can buy this guy for $10.75 from a local place

I prefer local mom and pop stores. The one I go to for everything is called "Mom and pops is better than any national chain bullshit". For what isn't grown or made locally, they will go get it. For example, they recently flew down to South America to get me some Ecuadorian hornado de chancho that was in a pit, came back, and made it into a nice pork sammich for me. Sure, it cost a bit more than what national chains would charge ($1800 vs $6), but it was so much more flavorful and super delicious.

But seriously, does anyone not like Schlotzsky's? Their bread is amazing, the entire sammich is a gift from God. Aside from the price, there isn't a thing I don't like about Schlotzsky's.
