I really hate being around depressed people. It makes me just want to leave the room or not even come home to them. I don't think I've ever been depressed a single day in my life. Maybe I don't know what love is after all.

How do you guys deal with depressed people? Because i'm tired of walking on eggshells.

I'm depressed half the time, when I'm in a room with a depressed person I see myself in them, and it makes me want to help and support them through what they're going through, which is what I would want in their position.

As for what love is? It's a complicated concept that shouldn't be distilled into a single word, there's different types, like the love of a family member vs the love of your SO, and the love of a subject or a piece of music. These feelings all resemble each other in key ways but also differ.

Want to help your sister? Do something she likes with her, talk to her, hear her out and see whats going on in her head, tell her that the future will be brighter and distract her for a little while so she can see there is still joy in the world.
