I would not say advantage, but often I do hear of stuff here that I probably would of never stumbled upon. The tiger woods thing was a good example, I was at work and I'm totally randomly "hey looks like Tiger woods got in an accident" everyone was surprised and did not know about it. In fact I don't think it had hit the news yet.

I learn a lot of stuff here on Anandtech that is good to know or at least interesting facts. The stuff like Hollywood gossip I usually initially hear about it somewhere else but I don't even really follow that stuff.

I used to occasionally get some insights in the P&N forum as well but not anymore (the insults and name calling usually started after the first reply but not anymore)
