BTW I do not accept that voting 3rd party = throwing your vote away. I have no intention of voting for either Hillary or Trump. I consider neither to be worth my support, and neither to be bad enough to vote against. I can't stand Mrs. Clinton and think she represents the worst among politicians, but I don't think she's Gore bad or Kerry bad. Maybe Trump would be better, but he could just as easily be worse. Maybe much worse. In any event, I'll be voting for Gary Johnson and I don't give a shit if I'm the last deciding vote and they are both standing there frantically waving their painted naughty bits in my general direction. (Probably not more than a 10% chance of that happening anyway.)

The only possible way I see that might change is if the Pubbies actually go through with the rumored plan to run an establishment candidate as an independent in the hopes of denying anyone an electoral majority, thereby throwing the election to the House of Representatives. In that case, fuck them very much, I'll vote a straight Democrat ticket - something I've never done in a Presidential election year. If they don't trust our judgement, they certainly don't deserve our votes. (At least Democrats are open in believing that we are all idiots who absolutely need their special blend of control, I don't need that from the GOP on top of the gay-hating and tree-hating.) Or if something really, really horrendous comes out about Hillary - but seeing as I already have an extremely low opinion of her and she's been, um, heavily investigated by some very motivated opposition, I actually cannot even imagine what might be that horrendous and yet still believable.

She was 17. She was driving the car, ran a stop sign and hit a car driven by, it turned out, a close friend. He died.

"In May 2000, a two-page police report pertaining to a fatal accident that had taken place near Midland, Texas, in 1963 was made public. It contained the information that 17-year-old Laura Welch had run a stop sign, causing the death of the sole occupant of the vehicle hers had struck. According to that report, the future First Lady had been driving her Chevrolet sedan to a local drive-in theater on a clear night shortly after 8 p.m. on 6 November 1963 when she entered an intersection without heeding the stop sign and there collided with the Corvair sedan driven by 17-year-old Michael Douglas. I don't think I'm known for being especially PC, but I DO think the cartoon is offensive, obviously not to me personally, but offensive in general. I agree with shehateme. This cartoon is deliberately playing off a stereotype of black women being masculine.

I would also add that during the Bush years, obviously there was a raging torrent of criticism of Bush coming from the left. Funny that I can't recall Laura Bush ever being included in that. Maybe someone somewhere said something once. I never saw it after many years on political discussion forums during the Bush years.
