Do you get work messages 24/7?

I do. Most of them are not directed at me specifically, but are MS Teams messages on my phone to my consulting group. I get emails directly to me from my boss anytime until 1-2 AM. I will respond if it's before 7 PM but I let them go until 8AM otherwise unless it involves an East Coast client, then I will try and respond faster since they are an hour ahead. What are your expectations like?

I will assist people anytime from 6am in the morning to 7pm at night if it's an "emergency" and between 7am to 4pm for standard work stuff.

After that my phone goes on do not disturb. Office can be burning down and I won't find out till 6am the next morning.

My phone is not linked to work in any way, and will keep it that way, but if I want to I can VPN in if my work PC is at home. Not really something I do unless I'm curious about something going on like some kind of outage or something. I also sometimes tend to check the work schedule if I've been off for a while as they have been known to make changes to it without telling people.

Lol...thankfully no. When I was working, any wirk related call got me 2 hours of OT though.

I turn off work apps at the end of my working day and keep notifications off. If something is desperately needed, I'd know ahead of time to expect after hours stuff or someone can call me.

That's a big hell no for me. I may check my iPad once or twice after getting home but otherwise it waits until the net day.

Nothing I do is that important.

I don't really have that kind of business, but I'll rarely get calls after hours. I never answer, but if a message is left and I deem it important enough, I'll get back to them. It's so infrequent, I don't consider it a problem, and it's never 2am or anything ridiculous like that.

I work in IT, wfh. My hours are pretty flexible but I'm generally on an 8-4, 9-5 thing. Occasionally I work later than that if I'm doing myself a favor by saving several hours of headache the next day, but generally when I close my laptop, I'm done for the day, and it's gonna take a real emergency to crack that sucker open again. I may get periodic email blips but I ignore them, and I don't check slack/teams/whatever.

When I worked, I was doing 4 10s

When something happened, a LOT of people knew. Pager tones, phones ringing, sirens, flashing lights, speeding vehicles, roads closed, helicopters, etc.

Nope, turned off messages for most apps, and after 9pm only close family can "penetrate" my do not disturb mode.

I did. My boss and some coworkers have trouble sleeping and will email at any hour of the day.

But then my company added a policy that if you want access to Office or Teams or anything work related that you have to install an app that gives them full rights to the phone, to see all contacts, all messages, all photos, etc. And rights to delete anything they want off the phone without my knowledge. I instantly deleted any office connections on my phone. No more messages after 5 PM.

i deleted teams on my cell.
If they want to call me when im not in front of my laptop, then they need to use my mobile phone.

Its in DND mode at night, set from 2am and 9am, but, if they call multiple times it will let them though.

If you call me after 2am and before 9am it better be for a major incident. Anything else, I can deal with in the morning after I wake up.

If my City Manager or the City Council members call me after hours, I'll generally answer it. I have access to my work emails but I rarely check it after hours unless there's a deadline coming up for an important project. It's pretty rare that someone contacts me after hours though.

Heck no, my phone is my own. If they need me, they can just call or text, and it better be important enough to justify it.

I work freelance, so I'm 24/7/365. But it's pretty much just on-call for emergencies after-hours.

I also have ADHD, so sometimes I get bored & need something to chew on for a bit when I'm at home. There's always an infinite ticket backlog haha.

I have friends who are expected to be available 24/7 on Slack. I purposely don't use realtime chat in my work because emails, calls, and SMS are bad enough lol.
