Do you go to restaurants by yourself?

After losing my social group & gf, it was another 2 or so years before I went to a restaurant with another person. It was rather awkward as well.
So long of eating alone, kind of got used to it.
I'm going to grab something to eat alone later this week. First time since last August.

I usually eat lunch out of the office by myself once a week. I've gone to concerts, movies, and even an MLB games by myself. While I prefer to include my spouse, there are times when I just need a little space to enjoy some time alone.

If by restaurant you mean places where you have waiters who hand you menus then no, never alone. That would be like going to the movie theater alone.

restaurants..no, but movie? why is that odd? do you actually plan to be talking with someone the entire time?

heck, I did that frequently when I was working downtown Chicago and on days when I could get off work early, go see a horrible flick that my gf would never want to see, and I could avoid the usual annoying crowds.

I agree with what was said earlier in the thread. Breakfast/lunch alone is fine, but I wouldn't eat dinner at a sit-down by myself. If I'm alone for dinner I'll just get takeout.

I don't see any problem with going to the movies by yourself though.

I eat alone at restaurants rarely. Only once in a while during lunch when I get stuck in meetings and wind up going after all of my friends.

When I was single I'd hit a restaurant by myself on rare occasions for dinner. Can't remember ever doing that since my wife and I started dating.

Sorry, don't swing that way, but as a man I don't have any insecurity or worry of going out solo and in fact it usually pays off in meeting more women that want to be discreet and not approach a dude with a posse of adult children.

this thread is funny. its obvious that either very few here work for a job where they have to travel alone out of town or all you eat is takeout. I do quite often and guess what im eating alone when that happens. Because im sure as fuck not getting takeout for a week.

I dont always go to super formal places but i do go to sitdown resturants for food.

hell ill also hit up a movie alone if I have time when out of town because theres nothing else to fing do

i will also, while driving for work. gotta get out of the truck sometimes. but if its an overnight trip, id rather get drive thru or take out and sit at the hotel and eat than sit alone. i get too bored.

I've done it, but if I have a choice, I'd much rather just get takeout and bring it back home (or to the hotel room if I'm traveling)

last time I remember eating in a restaurant alone was when I went on vacation with my mom... god love her, but she doesn't shut the fuck up. I really enjoyed waking up early in the morning and having a quiet breakfast with my laptop by myself.
