I don't know how well they'd domesticate, but the joy of having goosesh!t everywhere might temper my enthusiasm for the idea...

Geese aren't known for being friendly, and Canadian variety have quite an appetite with large dropping.

I have seen some ones around here that are friendly to people they know, but strangers are not taken too kindy too, and they get very nasty. Nasty is the stuff that comes out of them, too!

There's a video out there some place of geese attacking people, but the real bad ass in it is a black Swan that had gone after some guy years before, and when he comes back to the lake the Swan liives in 15 years after the original attack, he's barely out of the car before the Swan moves in for a repeat bout! It really works him over, and the Swan's Mrs. comes over towards the end and joins in on the fun. By the time he gets back into the car, he's bleeding and his pants are nearly torn off. Hilarious

They had a TV show about birds once and this guy went back to Japan after coming to the US , and the crane he had raised from birth saw him 30 years later, and instantly started doing this little dance thing they had done at the zoo 30 years before. The guy starts blubbering, and can't believe the bird remembers him after all that time.

My friend out west has a Hyacynth Macaw, and if I'm put on a speakerphone, and talk to the bird, he starts barking like my old dog used to, and even says a distorted version of me yelling, "Hey, knock it off!" The bird, 51 years old, hasn't seen me since 1982!

Those things are like gigantic pigeons. I hate them and wish them all a painful death.

They probably would make a decent pet, but they are poop machines, as mentioned.

On the other hand those of us that grew up in a time when you could only see them in a textbook appreciate their comeback from their brush with extinction.

BTW, it's Canada Goose, not Canadian Goose. And no, they would make a terrible (as in literally crappy) pet.

The Canadian Geese (Canada Geese, whatever) suck. They have no predators here and they crap everywhere. Nasty.

They make a freaky call that sounds like a human in distress which makes them ineligible for the big 3 list.

When you breast them out
Put them in a slow cooker with some east Indian spices and tomato juice.
Soooo tasty and tender.

Ahh there it is!

1 DARN goose (about 3 lb)
2 Tablespoon Garam Masala (from Sperstore)
1 Large onion (chopped)
2 Teaspoon grated ginger
3-4 Cloves garlic (grated)
3-4 Tablespoon vegetable oil
2 Teaspoon ground pepper
½ Teaspoon mustard seed
1-1½ Teaspoon salt (to taste)
1-1½ Teaspoon lime or lemon juice (to taste)
2 or 3 Tomatoes, cut (can use frozen tomatoes too)
One pinch ground cinnamon (about 1" cinnamon stick)
2 Cups water

Warm the oil on medium heat in the pan you are planning to cook the goose. When the oil is warm, add the onion, ginger, garlic, and mustard (place the lid, otherwise the mustard will EXPLODE). Cook until the onion turns golden brown. Add pepper and garam masala, mix well and cook for about 2 minutes (make sure it does not get charred). Add the meat and the rest of the stuff. Cook until the meet is tender (mix regularly). Add more water if needed to prevent charring or if you need some sauce. You can add more salt and/or lime to suit your taste.

I hate Canadian Geese and have a strong desire to torture and kill as many as possible every time I see one.

I hate geese, especially canadian geese. I havbe been attacked by 3 of them while I was on my bicycle. I suppose it might just be the same one three times, I can't tell. They are vicious nasty animals which should be shot and eaten on site.
