Do you guys watch Top Gear?

Hey people, I've been a stupidly big top gear fan for years now, I missed out on going to see an episode being filmed last year...

I noticed they've just started airing Top Gear US. and I was wondering have you guys watch Top Gear UK? When i was in america that's all anyone wanted to talk to me about.

Ok cool thanks I'll have a look, I started watching the US one but wasn't impressed so I gave up. I wish they would release a box set of all the series that I could buy for like £150 or something...

just remember, top gear UK sucked for the first few seasons. I'll give the US version a couple more chances, but if it doesnt take off early, it'll get canned.

That's fair, it might take a while to get into it's stride, although with Top Gear UK I liked it from season 2 when James May joined...

Yeah, the first season of UK Top Gear in its current form was pretty rough. The US version has potential if they continue to let Foust be the lead guy. The other two were pretty annoying in the first episode. They also need to get their cameras figured out, because they were aweful. One of the best things about the UK Top Gear is that the camera work is near perfect...you never see the camera men or chase vehicles or anything, unless they specifically want you to. The US version just doesn't seem like they tried in that respect.

I plan on watching at least a few more episodes to see if they can clean it up and introduce their own brand of humor, but if they just review the same cars and say the same things in the same way as the UK show, it won't really be worth watching.

Saw episode one of the US version, it sucked seeds like a budgie with no beak. Terrible, not a shred of humor or originality. It's Top Gear in name only.

I love the original Top Gear (haven't seen the American version, but have not heard much positive about it).

The episode where they take the Challenger, Corvette, and Caddy CTS to the salt flats was excellent (and they actually loved all three American cars). The episode where they drove their clunkers across the deep South in America was also incredible for other reasons. I can't name a favorite Top Gear moment, just so many great episodes.

i like his humor haha he likes to offend everyone and doesnt care.


i saw the 60 minutes segment of the show and they were talking about how he mocks everyone and the one they showed was truck drivers:

the deep south episode was deff top 5. I live in miami so on a road they drove on i saw on tv is a road i drive on every day

I used to watch the BBC's version until about season 10 ... when it got so precocious and anti-American that I simply stopped watching. I guess the problem that I had with it was Clarkson. What a (fill in the blank).

The American version suck so bad it hurts to watch.
