Do you hate leaving voicemails?

I don't know what it is but I just can't stand to leave voicemails unless its very important.

I guess I figure if that person will just see the missed call and call back when they can and if not it's no biggie.

Am I alone on this?

I don't like leaving voicemails either. I tend to call back if I can't get through the first time and will leave a vm on the second call.

But I also have said that "it must not be important, if they didnt leave a message" when I get "missed calls" on my own phones.

No, but I do hate it when people call 10 times in 5 minutes instead of simply calling once and leaving a message.

I used to leave voice mails all the time and tell people to leave them for me all the time (on my cell) because I used to have poor service and the call wouldnt go through. The only way I would know they called was if I got an indication of a voicemail when I got better signals.



Now I would say I'm 50/50, although if it is for work I almost always leave a VM.

there should be a safety feature on voicemails so that you cannot leave them when drunk.

I don't so much hate leaving them as checking them. Usually they involve "hey, call me". WTF, I saw I missed a call and I would have called you anyway so why waste my time?

I'm like you. I'll leave a voicemail if it's imperative that they call me back. Otherwise, forget it.
Especially with long VM menus like Verizon's where you have to wait 30 seconds before you can leave a message.

You know what I hate? I hate voicemail systems that have:
1) The person you're calling's personal "leave a message" message.
2) The automated woman's voice telling you "to leave a message, press one or wait for the tone, to leave a numeric page blahblahblah."
3) Same automated woman telling you to leave a message.
4) Long pause.
5) Beep.

Well I'm not like that with it.

If they don't call back then I don't care.

If it's really important I'd leave a vm, but 99% of the time I never do.

they should make it so that after 11pm you have to do something like hit the 1, 7, 4, 6, 2, * keys in succession within 2-3 seconds before before it could send the message.
