Do you have a 8800GTX/9800GTX/280GTX and its variants still working?

Do you have a Geforce 8800GTX/9800GTX/280GTX or their variants that never failed and still work?

I mean you bought for example a 8800GT and it has never failed since you bought it to this day it still running as good as it did when it was new.

I am asking this because I just sent back an ASUS Geforce GTX 280 OC that failed and this caused me to google about it and I found out many people had their Nvidia cards fail on them.

I am wondering if users here have their original Nvidia card 8800 and up that still works since they bought it and it has never been RMA.

So if you have one of the above cards still working or if it has failed, please reply.

Mine works fine. Pardon the rhyme.

8800gt. Not sure how old, but old enough that it was the best option in the price range when I bought it. I keep pushing the overclock because I really want a new card but can't justify the cost dammit.

So you have a 8800GT since you bought it new and it never failed? Impressive

You shouldn't overclock it, I read many people killed their overclocked cards after some time when their overclocked

I have the following still functional in other people's PCs, and those with a * are in storage but worked fine last time I used them (within a year or so):

GeForce 8-Series
8800 GS
8800 GTX
2x8800 GTs
*8800 Ultra

GeForce 9-Series
9600 GT
9800 GT
9800 GTX (still being run hard in the GF's PC)

GeForce 200-Series
2xGTX 260 Core 216 (technically not mine, but I picked them for a friend for SLI and set up his rig, I stopped buying nVidia for my own personal use after the 9-Series.)

There has only been one GeForce to ever die on me prematurely and that was a 6800 GT which we RMA'd and got back a 6800 GS. The 6800 GT failed me I'd say within 6 months. First GPU I've ever had die on me under a year, second GPU I've owned (in my posession) to ever die. First causalty was a Radeon 9800 XT.

I have 2 old machines with Nvidia graphics, one is Geforce 6800GT and the other i Geforce 3 Ti200, both still work no problem.

Only my GTX 280 started dying and I don't remember seeing so many people report these kind of problems on the old Nvidia cards

xfx 8800 gtx and evga 280 gtx bought both brand new and they still kick ass. 8800 gtx getting a little long in the tooth but the gtx 280 overclocked still gets it done. I am very happy with the 280. I paid a premium to get it at the time but look now getting close to two years of gaming and still is very relevant today.

I had two 8800 GTS 320 cards go belly up on me within a few months (roughly 6-9 months) while the third is still going strong in my lanbox.

I'm still running a 8800GTS(G80) 640mb card and working fine, but my brothers 8800GT 512mb (G92 based) has started to fail this week, purchased after about a month after mine

I have a GTX260 C216 and a G80 8800GTS 640MB that I got when it launched and it's working fine. The only card that died on me was a 7900GT.

8800gts still running in my current rig. Which is annoying cause I want to upgrade.

Have an 8800 GTX with an Arctic Cooling Accelero on it. Been a faithful performer since December 06. I just recently replaced it with an overclocked GTX 260 (which I also put an AC Accelero Pro on). So yeah, I have two kinds you mentioned (with no plans for anything more powerful - none of my games need it).

8800GTS 640, if its running 3D then its at 648/1512/999 and has been since I bought it.

Its been solid, no hardware problems at all.

My GTX 285 works great still and my 8800GTS 320MB RMA replacement still works (original one started acting up i.e. randomly locking up computer after about 2 years of usage but it didn't completely die)

got an 8800GT still working fine, and one of my friends has a perfectly good 9800GTX and GTX260, also working fine. all 3 have been run under heavy F@H loads at some point in time as well for days-months at a time, and have been quite well stressed under gaming loads as well.

The 7 series for me are more prone to fail. I have had a 7800 GTX. GT and 7900 GT fail on me. I have owned a 8800 GT 512 X 2 and a 8800 GT 256 and they ran strong. I have a 9600 GT and a 9800 GTX. The 9600 Gt is great but the 9800 GTX has some issues with the bios boot screen being garbled and fuzzy, but games still play great. My GTX 280 ran great before I sold it. Also have a 6800 Ultra and 6800 GT that still run great.

I still have a EVGA 9800GTX that was purchased at launch, still as new as the day it was bought.

I gave my brother a BFG 7900GTX OC. Still running perfect in his rig as well.

I also have a EVGA 7600GT CO in my wife's rig, pefect also.

OT: And a ATI Radeon X1800XL 256, as new as the day it was purchased.

My EVGA 9800GTX+ still runs fine but I only had it for a year and a half which isn't a long time.

among the cards faxon mentioned, I also sold a launch 8800 GT superclocked from EVGA to a friend when I got the 9800 GTX. I believe he still uses it.
