I was just given a Zotac GTX 285 to replace the defective ASUS GTX 280 OC, I will see how well it fares.

7800 gt since March 2006 and can't remember having anything going wrong with it, aside from being left behind after an year and a half or so, lol.

Unlike the current cards, whatever the manufacturer, that one managed to max out the new releases at the time without breaking a sweat. I really felt I got a good deal on it because of this.

One time I received a 8800GTS that was bad (artifacting). Other than that I've never had a card fail. My (almost) 2 year old GTX260 works just fine.

You realize if you google this type of thing you are taking an extremely non-random sample? No conclusions can be made from a large proportion of either positive or negative comments that you find. People only get online to comment if something is working terribly or really well.

That's why there aren't many "Nothing to report here, doing just fine" threads in this forum.

I am wondering if users here have their original Nvidia card 8800 and up that still works since they bought it and it has never been RMA.

So if you have one of the above cards still working or if it has failed, please reply.

I have an 8800 GTS (G92) that has worked since day 1. My brothers each have 8800s that also have worked since they bought them. As a matter-of-fact, the only video card that I ever had die was a BFG 6800 GT OC. It is still under warranty and I should probably see what I would get in return, but I've been too lazy.

Just wanted to add that I've only had 1 Nvidia card fail(Geforce 2 GTS) but I have had 3 ATI cards fail: Radeon 8500(ATi), 9800Pro(Sapphire), 4830(Asus)

All bought new, kept stock.

I have a 6800, 7300gt, and gtx 260 that all have never failed. I've only had the 260 for 1.5 years though.

I did have a 7600gt fail. EVGA lifetime warranty FTW

My EVGA 8800gts 640 finally kicked the bucket again. I baked it in the oven and brought it back a few months ago but it seemed only to be a temporary fix. I'm going to try it in a different computer and maybe bake it again. I have had it for almost 4 years, I can't lose it now

I got a EVGA 8800GT 512 superclocked edition SLI setup running fine still... i dunno usually EVGA carries pretty damn good quality Nvidia cards...

My 8800gts 320 fan blew out and tore a hole in my case, my 8800gts 512 blew up and killed my dog, my gtx275 transformed into a decepticon and tried to kill me but I terminated it with extreme prejudice after a vicious battle. I'm currently using my 480 for wind tunnel tests.

Other than that they have all run great.

Googling +"gtx 275" +decepticon returns 450 hits, so I gather from that that this is not an uncommon problem. Have you tried updating the drivers?

Have a EVGA 8800GT that is still active in my Q6600 box. Don't remember when I got it but it's been 24/7/365 for at least a couple of years now. It's main usage is crunching F@H for da team!
