Do you have an internet routine?

By nature I'm not a conservative guy but I've found that over time I've fallen into a rather conservative browsing rut when it comes to the net. I have a very tight list of websites that I always visit in the same order every time I go on the net. Then I check my email and a few other scattered sites. Do you have such a routine you stick closely to?

If it weren't for the stumbleupon firefox extension I don't think I would do much actual surfing, though thanks to it I do get my share in.

when i first get on the internet i usually check email, sports pages, a couple of forums, and a few other things. i don't visit sites in a particular order, but i definitely visit the same pages at the beginning when i get online.

iGoogle for news, AnandTech and YouTube for entertainment, Wikipedia for "edutainment", GMail for real life tedium. Those are my core sites.

It's got to the point where I decide to check out something like the weather on the BBC site, but select the ATOT bookmark out of habit

Start FF, make coffee, goto ATOT, open interesting threads in New Tabs, answer uninteresting questions with NO, close Tab, don't return to thread, goto ATPG....

It's hard to discover new sites, even if I find something interesting, I'll forget the next day. The internet is like moving to a new neighborhood, after the first month, you visit the same places.

I'm a nerd so opening Firefox is set up to open 3 tabs at once: iGoogle (with Gmail inside), Boston.com/Events (for what's fun in the city) & Facebook

FB obviously takes up the most amount of time as it's a social network. Then I go to the following in no particular order:

ATOT (neffing)
sclegacy.com (StarCraft 2 news)
firingsquad.com (Game news although I don't even play games anymore)

That's about it really...

WoW Forums. My God... how do you stand not responding to every 12 year old on there who think everything needs to be nerfed other than what they play? Or how there's only 1 side to every story... or the worst - how people post on their alts anytime they say anything unfavorable? It gets pretty sickening over there. Tough to find the good threads.

If I've been on more than 10 distinct websites this month it would be a miracle. I really don't "surf" any more at all.

Yes there is a routine. I imagine most people have one.

Daily visit sites are: Anandtech, Engadget, AutoWeek, Corolland, HardOcp/Forum, CNN, Intellicast, YouTube, Stage6, ExtremeTech, TGDaily, Egotastic, IDon'tLikeYouInThatWay, ArsTechnica, TheRegister

Not so daily: AutoExtremist, AVSForum, AnythingButIpod, DeviantArt, InterfaceLift

i really only look at the class forums for the classes i play and the PVE one, they arent nearly as bitchy and such as you mentioned, sometimes i go into the PVP forum when i need a good laugh,

for sure i have a routine on the intertubes...

check hockey pools, check emails, ATOT, TFNN, various news & weather sites, a couple other special interest & hobby forums (lurk mostly)...

pretty much the same when i'm at work except ATOT is pretty much the only forum that isn't blocked by Websense.
