Yes but I don't know why I bother. It's been years since my AV has flagged anything and I've never had a confirmed viris/worm/trojan etc... installed on any of my PC's (all Windows based). However, I'll probably leave it going since I have oodles of excess CPU power so it's not like it slows my PC down in any noticable way.

If I had a linux machine I would probably not install any since the platform is so rare that few people bother to write exploits. If I had a mac I most certainly would install an AV as they are becoming far too popular to escape the larger exploit writers attention for long.

Not on my Mac, but yes on my desktop PC. Got just basic Avast running. Haven't gotten any real warnings in ages. Going after desktops is pointless for today's hacker, as the Sony PSN debacle beautifully illustrates. Why send illegal spam or get personal data from one system at a time, when you could get 100 million peoples' info in one go.

I don't do anything dumb that could get a virus. I also don't mind reformatting every so often.

Everyone should, Mac, Windows, all should. Macs are getting more popular and I've already seen a couple people with Mac laptops getting virus'. The only reason why they were fine without one before was because no one targeted them but they're getting targeted much more now since they're more popular. Even Apple says you should run one now.

MSSE installed on all 3 of my systems and on one of my parents machines. Used to use Antivir, but the popup is impossible to permanently disable in Windows Home versions. No reason to not have an AV installed - they aren't very resource demanding and it'll give you some protection from some of the potentially malicious things you can run into on the web.

yea both my desktops and my laptop run MSSE. Its the only AV that doesn't bug the living hell out of with its constant reminders and pop ups and updates. It just does its job.
