I used to have a recurring dream where I thought I registered for a class and then forgot about it until the final exam, which is that day. Then I'd wake up going oh shit oh shit. Then I'd realize I already graduated.

Also would have a dream where I couldn't control my car right and kept running into different shit over and over and wouldn't realize it didn't happen for a few minutes after waking up.

There was a slew of recurring nightmares I had as a kid, but I don't get them anymore. I actually don't really remember any of my dreams lately so I guess in theory I could be...

This, exactly. Sometimes though, its one step worse. I've managed to get through to the end of college and find out somehow there was a technical error with my high school diploma that creates the situation where I never should have gotten it, like not enough credits or something, and I either have to do a semester or year back in high school or I've wasted all my time in college.

I knew someone who's father got accepted into a college and quit high school without getting his degree. Was able to get his bachelors without having it.

Haha, kind of funny other people have almost the exact same dream I've had. I did my post before I read most of the thread.

I used to have a recurring dream where I would blow my brains out, but couldn't die. I believe that it came about from a great fear that my depression, pain, and axiety were inescapable.

there are two dreams that i had years ago but i will never forget them.

the first dream i was playing the lottery and won a billion dollars! i got the check and walked over to my father while yelling and cheering to show him the amount. he took the check and right before my eyes tore it in half... haha i woke up and was pissed at him all day.

the second dream i was standing on the roof of a sky scraper. the roof was at a steep angle and i kept sliding down and down. of course i was scared shitless and kept trying to climb up but couldn't. finally i just fell. as i was falling it dawned on me that i was in a dream and i remembered that in typical falling dreams you wake up right before you hit the ground. so as the ground loomed closer and closer, i was just waiting to wake up... i just hit the ground haha and didnt wake up. it felt like i hit a mattress. so i got up and started walking around (in my dream), but then i woke up a second later haha

I used to have this recurring recursive dream. I'd wake up with sleep paralysis and realize the house is on fire, but I can't move. I'm going to die. Then I notice something weird and unrealistic and realize its a dream. Then I wake up from that dream with sleep paralysis and realize the house is on fire, but I can't move. Repeat x50.

I've had the same recurring dream since college.

it's the end of a semester, and all of a sudden I discover that I signed up for a class and totally forgot to attend it all year, leaving me with a weekend to cram and try to pass the final.

haha I've had this EXACT dream recur and it sucks! also sometimes i'll realize it with about 2 weeks left before the end of the semester and try and cram everything in. Fortunately I haven't had this dream in a number of years.

The one that has always been with me since childhood is water. rain, oceans, rivers, lakes, floods, pools everything. all types of water in every type of dream, dreaming about vacation, walking around the city, some crazy alter world, anything.

Mine consists of zombie attacks and random panic scenarios involving them. Had them for many years.

Flying... I get LOTS of flying dreams. A lot of the times when I fly is when I'm in a world of shit... and I get to activate NOPE.AVI where I can just bone the fuck out. I'll just launch away like superman and soar high into the air. The view below becomes breathtaking, and it's such a liberating feeling.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I sometimes have dreams trying to climb something impossibly steep. It's usually trying to go up an incredibly steep hill where I'm on the verge of losing traction. The most recent one, I'm riding a horse on a muddy slope and I'm sliding most of the time. To keep myself from sliding, there are thorn covered branches that I can grab onto, and I'm trying my hardest to grab parts without thorns.

Lastly, I get recurring dreams that I have to piss soo bad. When I finally do find a bathroom, it's the shittiest bathroom ever - and for some reason, I always have to be wearing sandals. There's piss and shit all over the place, and I finally come across this shit encrusted urinal, and I'll go. But I keep going and going and going until my pee fills the bowl and spill over all over my bare toes. FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I rarely dream, or remember my dreams. But when I do, I dream about flying.

Nope.

Also if I have nightmares I usually turn them on themselves.

I experienced the equivalent of sleep paralysis (maybe I was just dreaming I was in bed, who knows) and turned the tall dark figure(resembled someone I knew) with a kitchen knife on themselves. I was like, "While experiencing a knife going through my chest sounds amazing and new... I'm just not going to let that happen right now. Who knows, maybe I'll be impaling myself in real life with something. Alright, this dude is gonna kill himself."

Guy started slitting his own wrist with the knife.

I used to have a recurring dream - starting as small child lasting until early adulthood: I'd be on a playground, and children are running all around me. I'm trying to join them, to run and play with them - but I can't. Because my legs won't work.

I would fight really hard just to stand up, and sometimes, just sometimes, I would manage to take a few steps before falling. This would go on until the dream ended.

Glad I don't have that dream any more.

When I was younger I had a recurring theme - being chased by someone. Finally one night I guess I got sick of it and decided in my dream to just say 'fuck it' and stopped running. Nothing happened, whoever was chasing me faded away and that was the last one.

It's incredibly hard to become aware enough within a dream to act consciously. There's an exercise where you try to become aware of your hands, gradually trying to look at them.

Being tiny tiny in a huge checkerboard room. I never know how big the room is tho, because the walls are constantly flying further away (but each time I think about it they feel as tho they start ~close~).

For some reason it freaks the snot out of me...

OK, thats either a fastastic coincidence or my brain is telling me something.
For the first time in a long time I had a dream.

For some strange reason I was in line to get an autograph from Julie Strain, which is weird cuz I dont even like Julie Strain (maybe my subconscious does). Anywho, spent the whole dream waiting in a boring ass line, talking to hot babes but for some reason I dont care, almost get to her desk, some fat nerd with surprising strength push me out.
I wake up.

Common ones:

Flying (sometimes just gliding with feet barely above ground)
Getting shot
Wake up falling

definitely stress related.

When I was younger I used to have a dream about falling out my bed. It happened enough that I learned to ignore the "impact" and not wake up. I then traveled into my basement and got attacked by "the boogeyman". I learned to ignore the "scare" and keep sleeping, turns out me and the boogeyman are good friends and we did all sorts of wacky things in my dreams. Drove in limo's, played hide and seek in warehouses full of boxes, fought aliens. Good times.

Then it stopped and I have never had a reoccuring dream since. I miss hanging out with the boogeyman : (

I dream about my ex a lot. Either we're having spectacular sex, or I'm completely enraged by something he did or said in the dream.
