Just bought a "new" Ford Fusion. Not regretting it yet because it was actually an used car driven by the dealership VP and had 4K miles on it. I got a good deal on it IMO

The Fusion is a great car. Very solid with a proven engine and suspension. Shouldn't cause you many problems

No. I may do a lot of agonizing beforehand, but any anxiety I had over the purchase usually ends after I pull the trigger.

Biggest buyer's remorse for me was a 2008 Honda Fit purchased new. I liked the car at first, but eventually the poor ride quality and road noise, as well as the lack of cruise control really got to me. I sold it about 3 and a half years after I bought it and luckily, it hadn't depreciated a whole lot. Ultimately, it was as though I had leased it for around $120 a month. Used the money from selling it to buy an older but more comfortable and quieter 2003 Accord, and I've been super happy with it.

Oh, and I'm never buying a subcompact again.

So you drove a car for 3 years for almost no cost and you still complain? I don't notice road noise and poor ride quality in my honda fit. And cruise control is an option so not sure about why you complain about not having it when you decided not to pay for it?

As others have said, I over-research EVERYTHING. It annoys my wife to no end. I don't just look up a few things, I will search and read for days before making a decision. Even after all of that, I still end up regretting making certain purchases afterwards.

lol I was the same way. Especially regretted it if the price dropped, even it thats 6 months later. I haven't been as much as a stickler on research recently, but then I find I could have gotten something better or if I could have found a better deal a couple months earlier if I had been paying attention. Can't win.

I can't think of a single instance I've had buyers remorse on. Everything I've ever bought from big to small I got what I wanted/needed at the time for the price I wanted/needed.

Heck, just bought my first house and love it. Don't like some of the dickheads I dealt with to get the house, but love the house and the price I paid at least.

I rarely get buyers remorse due to over-researching all purchases. I definitely look back at purchases thinking I should have done better but overall no major issues. Buying my house was possibly the best purchase I ever made. It went up 50% in value in under one year after purchased and we refinanced at historic lows. Since the value increased so much our equity increased and we no longer had to pay PMI. Not bad only having to pay PMI for 10 months with a 5% initial down payment. It sure helps me sleep easy knowing I could make 1/4 of what I make right now and still make the house payment.

I had buyers remorse for years when I bought my first house. And then the boom hit and my house tripled in value. It became a huge asset. I have recently paid off my mortgage, but I will say for the first several years I had thought I was well over my head in terms of buying the house I did.

Just sharing my experience. What good is ATOT if you can't complain a little? This entire thread is about people complaining. I'm not saying Honda ripped me off or Honda sucks. The small annoyances grew over time and eventually I decided to move on.

Obviously in hindsight I should have also paid for the model with cruise control, but the car was so brutal on the highway I don't know how much it would have really helped. Every tiny bump was magnified and it didn't help that the engine was buzzy as hell at highway speeds because the gearing was retarded (the manual had a way shorter top gear than the automatic). Couple years after I got the Fit, my wife got a 2005 Altima and it was part of the reason I sold it. I didn't really realize how awful the ride and noise was until I rode in a decent midsize car.

My Accord is not perfect but it's much better, and that's saying something considering it's 5 years older and has more than 100k more miles on it than the Fit did. The engine revs a little above 2000 RPM at highway speeds instead of 3000+, and the gas mileage is only slightly worse (26 vs. 30 mpg overall, same commute).
