The truth is that 1 in 5 Americans has HSV2 (genital) & somthing like 8 out 10 have HSV1 (oral).

Good question!


Actually HSV1 is very often symptom-free so its easy to miss & even when symptoms do occur they are usually nothing more then the equivelant of a small pimple ... remember roughly 80% of people have this according to verified statistics. (my guess is its really more like 99%)

HSV2 can also be symptom-free, but outbreaks usually consist of large painful sores accompanied by low-grade fever & headache.

Funny question, but most people carry herpes type 1. Herpes type 2 is the same virus, but in a worse place. Hint: It's not on your face. If you unfortunately do have this there is some solid clinical evidence that lysine supplements can suppress the virus. Lysine is simply an amino acid that is found in many protein supplements and normal foods so it is considered safe to use.

Furthermore, I have actually researched this in the pharmacy database where I work and you can easily find more info about lysine with a simple web search. There are prescription medications available; but they are not cheap and the long term side effects are not always that desirable. You can find a very good price on it from the "reputable vitamin shops link" below. In my opinion, lysine is well worth a try for "the herp"

Most people carry the virus, and 90% of the people will get at least one cold sore in their lifetime. Forty percent of the people will have repeated episodes of cold sores.

no cold sore..but sometimes i get this very annoying pimple on my butt cheek... it sucks big time when it ripens, it hurts when i sit... and i have a computer job.
