Do you have this too ?

As long as i have been alive, i have this weird nerve effect. On the left side of my abdomen, along the lowest rib and one rib up of my rib cage, when i rub or scratch the skin with my right hand, i can feel an electric tingling sensation on the inside of my left elbow. Of course, when i do the same on the right side while using my left hand, i feel it too. I keep the arm with the elbow where i feel it perfectly still. If another person does it, i also experience the same thing. It is weird.

Have you people noticed a similar sensation ?

No, but a while back I had it with my foot, if I bend it a certain way I'd get this really sharp sensation, probably the same one you're getting. It eventually went away on it's own, but had me worried for a bit. It would hit me like a truck at random if I walked or moved my foot wrong.

No, but for a fun time, you can take apart a lighter with electric ignition, and click it on different nerve points to tweak your nervous system. Haven't done that in a long time. I also have dead points on some of my fingers that won't work on a touch screen. Probably from nerve damage, but I'm not exactly sure how a capacitive screen works.

Well, it is not a troll joke. On the left and right side of your abdomen muscles.

Of course, this is not me.
But where the red circles are, is the effect.

The iPhone 6s is the first generation of touch screen that works for me. Prior to that, it was like I was dead. I think it's sort of like the vampires and mirrors thing.

Anyway, OP, nope, I tried it, nothing. Maybe you have remnant canine DNA that causes electric tingles where with a dog, it makes them scratch. Either that or your elbows are so pointy, they work like antennas.

Your fingers change the capacitance between the "plates" of the touch screen. The fluid in your fingers in proximity to the plates causes the change in capacitance. Do you have callouses on the fingers that won't work with a capacitive touch screen?

Yes. Several spots on my body at the skin/just below skin level have a 'connected point' which I can feel sensations at elsewhere (phrasing!). I always assumed it was normal.

Interesting. I only have the spots on both sides of my abdomen at my 2 lowest ribs ( Not the floating ones).
Fun fact is that when i just relax my arms next to my sides it is also at the same height.

I have a few, can't think of them offhand. One fun one though is that I can make myself sneeze on command by scratching along my hairline on my forehead. Human bodies are hilarious.

A carrot will make a touchscreen work. Apparently your finger isn't conductive enough.

No more than the others. I especially notice it on my thumb. I almost took the end off with a hammer last year. A couple months after that, I crushed the nail with a hammer. I'm slowly losing the nail, and it's about 80% back now. I trim the old nail back when I can catch an edge. I don't want to hook it on something, and pull it off the fast way D^:

Amazing.
If we ever get to figure out how it works, i am sure we will find out that although the basic principle is the same for all people, the wiring is unique for every individual when it comes to the details. But globally it is the same. Same cranial nerves, Same spinal cord. But the branches are a bit different. No blue print there, just a grow till the nerve gets there and is suppressed from further growth mechanism.

Pretty much. Natural growth patterns for most organics kind of 'wing it' within a general framework, with some interesting (good and bad) results. The big deal about it that we have a very hard getting a handle on is resiliency/redundancy. If a computer circuit isn't laid out exactly, it fails. If the nervous system isn't laid out exactly, it just corrects via plasticity or whatever.

Yeah, i once read an article that in essence the body is flooded with a chemical that non stop suppresses nerve growth. But that was long ago.

Yep, I've noticed several of those. Both nipples are hard-wired to a spot on the inside of my thighs, about half-way between crotch and knee on the same side. I get the same thing, a tingling sensation.

(TMI warning)

When I take a dump, my pinky finger will sometimes have a sharp pain.
Does anyone have THAT? hah

No, but I sometimes get a runny nose. Which I understand is actually fairly common. Only really noticed it in recent years.

LoL! I've gotten that too, and same thing; I only noticed the last few years. Weird...
