Seems there have been many times when I needed two forms of photo ID. Mainly when it involves money or taxes.

Just curious how many people maintain two forms of photo ID.

The only ones I can think of off hand are drivers licenses, state issued ID, passport, military ID.

School ID

Your school ID is govt issued?

If it's a public school then yes. I'd say that my state university ID is technically 'government issued'

False. School IDs do not count as government issued. It seems as though they should, but many times if you read the fine print on some stricter forms needing two forms of ID, there should be a note about it.

Plus almost anyone can get a school ID without trouble. I took a summer class at VCU in Richmond, VA and I needed an ID to do online course work. I just showed up at the office and asked for one. They took my picture and my name and printed one. No SSN, no address, no nothing.

Now, that's not to say a school ID can't be used in certain circumstances, but it does not qualify as government issued.

Obliviously.

The State of Missouri has new proof of identity requiremens and a SSN card is still good, even though it has no photo.

I have my DL and an ID Card. Both issued from IL, so I guess when I get my FL DL I'll have three (until my IL ones expire).

They might take it away. Do you have to go in and take the wrtten + driving tests, or do you just have to show them your out of state license to get a license in FL? If the latter, I think they'd take it away. If the former, they may ask you if you have a license in another state and take it away. I seem to remember reading when I got my NJ license that you have to surrender your license from another state to get your NJ license.

Of course you could just lie, but there's not much benefit to having both unless you sell it to some kid to use as a fake ID.

Well they won't know I have the ID Card. But anyway, they don't make you take a drivers test, but they apparently are scared of Illegal?s getting fake out of state ID's as they require a certified copy of my birth certificate before they will let me have one. One thing about FL I have found is they don't really care about the constitution much (guess it runs in the family).

Nope. All I have is my DL. I haven't ran into a problem yet where I needed two forms of photo ID. I have my SSN Card and Birth Cert for a second form of ID.

Weird. One would think that 'government issued' would mean 'an ID issued by an agency of the government'

But I believe you, since that would be SOP for the gov't.

DL, Passport... Also, my House of Representatives staff ID probably counts as one, but that also expires this month, and I'm done with the job... But I keep the DL in my wallet, passport on desk at home.

Well for those of us with real jobs (read: we don't work for the government) a work ID is not a government issued form of ID.

Dang rocket scientists working for the government think they know it all ?

I'm covered.

You carry your passport with you at all times?
Your SSN card has your picture on it? In fact do you even carry it? No one should carry their SS card for idenity protection reasons.
