I do this as well but when I finally pull the trigger on the purchase it's usually an impulse. Like now I really want to order a Mac Book. I'll research the hell out of it. Then two weeks from now it will pop in my head and I'll say 'screw it order the damn thing!'.

It's not quite the impulse the OP is talking about but its still in the same realm.

Nobody really needs most of the things they buy. If you only bought things you need you wouldn't be a very happy fella.

I would argue that it has nothing to do with happiness. You can be quite happy and still only buy things you need.

I impulse buy only after doing research and looking for the best deals, and 80% of the time, it's household items....Like I found a really great deal on paper towels so I bought two cases... and most recently Sheets, coffee grinder, electric tea kettle...

I try to make it mostly family purcases and good structural quality, I feel substantially less buyers remorse that way.

I do impulse buy from time to time, but it's always at a dirt cheap price. My last impulse buy was The Seven Samurai Criterion Collection 3-disc set for $17.29 shipped from Overstock. I used a $20 off 150 coupon when there coupon system was messed up, and took off the dollar amount with no minimum. I was going to grab more Criterion dvd's, but they fixed the coupon error pretty quick.

yeh ive a bad habbit when i get bored and theres cash in my wallet ill go and play some pokies. Good when you win but shocking when you loose.
Ive got good self control as well, I just seem to switch off and next thing you know im at a machine. :Q

I would, but I force myself to wait a week for most things, that ends up being even longer and usually weeding out the things I don't need.
