Not to get into a flame fest, but how is it any difference than getting ones hair done, shaving, wearing "nice" clothes? It's all the same thing, only on a little different level.

Of course, everyone knows my feelings, i don't need to elaborate.

I doubt any thread about haircuts, clothes, or shaving would have so many references to sex.

shaving might

Implants are such a shame. There are tons of guys who like small breasts and a ton of other guys who like natural. Don't let the minority (albiet most vocal) of men make you feel ashamed of your body enough to undergo expensive surgery.

I realize that may be insensitive for me to say it. But that's my feelings on the subject.

I'm glad you chimed in with that.

We are so obsessed with what we are 'supposed' to look like that we forget about the most important things in life. Looking like you are about to nurse a baby is only important if you are actually about to nurse a baby. I guess implants seem like trying too hard to be 'sexy' to me, unless they are reconstructive.

Same boat here. I don't like implants, or even makeup. It's all the same sort of thing. It all seems like a form of lying.

My ex has them and they were nice and you could never tell that she had them. In fact after being with her, my mind has changed about implants. I am not going to tell anyone to go get them but I would support her completely in doing so.

Edit: Think of it this way. How is it any different than going out and spending money on a nice car, a big TV, or jewlery. The only difference is that the money is being spent directly on her.

It all depends on your perspective, Lola.

The 'pretty' sister in my family has breast implants. She is a beautiful woman, always has been, and I always admired how well put together she was/is. But I am sad for her sometimes, because it seems she views life as a beauty pageant, and she isn't getting any younger (none of us are!).

Me, I was the ugly duckling... I was tormented for being cross-eyed and overweight. And after the miracle of surgery gave me a normal looking appearance and I lost weight (because I could finally walk without tripping) I was upset that suddenly people who were mean to me wanted to be friends with me. Guys that made fun of me in elementary school wanted to date me in high school.

So for me, beauty is very much who you are and not how perfect you are, or how well you fit an artifical societal ideal. To me, beauty is more about originality and quality. Good grooming and good health is important... but following fashion and trying to fit in or be pleasing according to popular culture isn't.

Hey, It's not like I actually look like my avatar. I just like her because that's my way of saying FU to people who want to rate me according to my looks.

Do all normal women who get implants (ie not women who lost a breast due to disease or anything like that) get them because they have low self-esteem due to the men who prefer large breasts?

I think it's fine for women to get them if they want to improve their self-esteem and make them feel better about themselves. In fact, I think that most women get them to make up for their feelings of inadequecy. But should they have low self-esteem to begin with because they don't have what the majority of men prefer? I dunno....

I agree and admire your outlook, however, most people that judge me are just as bad. I am a passionate person who is kind, giving, full of love and exploration. I do not view life as a beauty contest, yet i do find it is important to take care of ones self.
so, nevertheless, i am so blessed with what i was given, but why should i be judged just because of something i wanted to do for me?

Does that make me any less of a person than you or anyone else that thinks make up, dying your hair, etc is "wrong"? No.

Lola, please don't think that I judge you. If getting implants made you feel good, that's fine. I never judged my sister for it, but felt bad that she felt like she needed it to be happy.

I just wish that we didn't have to feel like we aren't good enough or attractive enough the way we were made to begin with.

Man...why would a guy want implants? I mean I bet they would be fondling them all day, but they would look strange as hell.

lol, post of the day

My cousin's wife just went from a B to the largest C that would look non-freakish on her 5'3" frame.
