I hate most of my commute, but, love the twisty parts as long as there isn't some kinda slowmobile blocking me.
The best drive I had in recent times was over the winter, when we got around a foot of snow overnight, and lots of people decided to take the day off. There was like no traffic at all, and I was really able to drive "at the edge", note: in deep snow, the edge is not very fast (around 30mph, but, it was still a hell of a lot of fun )
I love driving in the snow, I wish there was like, an abandoned neighbourhood or something where you would be allowed to just go drifting and do driving moves that would normally not be allowed. Would have fun with that.

Go to a parking lot of a closed business. If cops come, "Sorry, I was just practicing my winter driving."
IMO, hooning around like that is actually quite useful as it helps to teach you not to panic when the tires get a little loose, and you learn to stabilize and handle things better.

I don't particularly enjoy driving although I have completely tamed road rage and I don't get upset at other drivers. I focus on keeping myself out of accidents and getting to where I'm headed in one piece. But I don't look for reasons to drive any farther than necessary unless it's to reduce the aggravation level of a shorter route.
My old roommate loves to drive which comes in handy on our occasional road trips. I'm happy to pay for the gas in return for not having to do the driving. But he's a car guy.
