I own more guns than just about anyone on AT, and I don't like the sound of gunfire. It's harsh and jarring and it tends to alarm me.

Yeah, I always thought that it was too bad silencers/suppressors are illegal, because it would make it much more relaxing to target shoot. I guess that's what happens when average citizens get stuck between criminals and a hyperreactive government.

From personal experience, I can vouch for that. There was a HUGE difference in the sound made by an AK when compared to the sounds made by M-16's ...many of us carried AK-57's as back-up weapons for use in places where an M-16 would tell the enemy we were in their back yard...

Are the advantages of the M-16 really enough to carry one along with an AK-47, including two different types of ammo, non-interchangeable mags, etc.??
