Do you like lamb meat?

Cooking lamb for the first time today and don't know what to expect.

I prefer lamb chops over pork chops. I just wish it wasn't so tough and stringy sometimes.

Got the leg. It's on the grill now. Just waiting for the internal temp to reach 135 F.

Yeah, it's really difficult to cook properly if you aren't accustomed to it. If you overcook it, it will have a pretty bad odor.

It's great. I buy a whole leg of lamb and cut it into pieces (big enough for about two bites) placed onto skewers over the grill. I marinade the meat for 24-48hrs in lemon, garlic, onion. It's always very tender and delicious.
I can't believe some of you haven't tried it, it's so easy and good. You should be able to get a good price on the meat at Costco.

Never had lamb other than gyros and that's pseudo lamb meat. I love Greek gyros so I thought I try this since Costco sells boneless leg for cheap. Hopefully this will be good and I can add it to my regular diet of beef, pork, and chicken.

Not to throw you off base, Alton just had an episode on making homemade Gyros. It's a lot of work - essentially a "lambloaf" on a rotisserie.

You have to get the loin lamb chops, which are pricey and at least twice as expensive as the lesser chop cuts, but well, well worth it. They are anything but tough and stringy, in fact, they are the epitome of tenderness. And don't forget the mint jelly on the side! Terribly English, what what, and my fav meal growing up.
