Do you like the new forum style?

Yeah I like it, though I am using the "dark" theme. I use a dark theme whenever possible (e.g. YouTube) as it just seems a bit easier on the eyes for me.

I generally hate the dark forums, but this default style is so FUGLY that the dark style is (slightly) preferable...

Not sure what's going on behind the scenes...the site has been down (for me) more often than a Main Street hooker on payday.

You can turn off the left sidebar with the hamburger menu. Go to setting to switch to dark theme. Dark theme has the strange combination of being in your face, while still having low contrast making it hard to see different elements. I'm a big fan of low contrast, but not the way it's done here.

You can turn off the right one as well,click the three "bars" next to the Anandtech logo in the top left.

Hide both bars, set the theme to dark, ctr+ a bit and it looks pretty ok tbh.

Yeah, a few things are going to drive me away the more time i spend looking at this new crap.

The colors i can deal with, but what really gets me is 20 posts per page, this is just unacceptable, some threads have 1k+ responses who wants to flip through 100+ pages instead of 10? And the lack of the forums list is also huge for me, i used that as my main way to quickly flip between forums.

Anyone have any forums suggestions for computer info?

That's the main issue I have with it - the loss of the forum list. There's plenty of space there on the side, so what's the purpose in removing it?

Typically, I have already forgotten what the old forum was like. Am I imagining it or did the old form tell you who the thread-starter was on the list of threads, not just who last posted to it?

But that now takes you to a whole new page. It's reminiscent of the problems poeple had with Windows 8 and 'metro', where you get jolted out of the context of what you are doing in order to go to a full-screen menu, rather than the old pull-up/drop-down start menu. There's a fairly big gap on the left of the forum thread, just stick a smaller version of the fourms list in there. Even as a drop-down menu.

I don't know, I'm getting old, I suspect everything I dislike about current UI practice is because it's now all about tiny-display touch-screen mobile devices. I'm a desktop dinosaur.

I thought eye searing white with grey text was the hot shit now? They have a dark theme here, and it isn't too bad. I just want to get rid of the blue, and maybe make a couple other tweaks.
