Do you like the smell of your own BO?

I do, but after a few days, it gets so rank, even I have to shower.

Seems like no matter where I go, there's some guy with a cloud of bad BO around him, and he seems to not notice at all. If I smell that rank, I am ashamed to go out in public.

And I shave my pits about once a month, it saves on the deodorant, and it keeps the smell down, a LOT. Especially during the spring and summer.

Ok, to update: I am outside raking leaves, and taking a break, and it's 90 degrees outside. And I noticed my smell was borderline acceptable, but teetering on the brink of rankness. that's why I posted this. :disgust:

Define BO. There are natural pheromones/scents (yes, humans do secrete them), and then there's bacteria infesting your sweat (the corn chip smell). The former is fine, and generally unsmellable by the secreter (you're immersed in it 24/7) Actually, partners are usually attracted to each other's natural scent(s). No one like the latter.

Our own farts don't smell as bad because we know exactly when they're coming. We can prep ourselves. We may be ready for something absolutely vile, and be treated to something that is actually not completely unpleasant. It's a nice surprise. Smells good in its own way...

BO though... there's no prep for that. Your armpit doesn't give you a signal when it's about to release a noxious odor. You can't prep for it. You smell it, BAM, that's offensive! I don't sweat all that much, so when I do, it always comes as something of a shock. Maybe guys who are constantly sweating and reeking are less likely to be offended by their own scent... I know that's true of Frenchmen... But I have never smelled BO that has been anything but foul.

honestly, a slight... i said slight... sweaty smell can be nice. fresh sweat, like you've been playing frisbee on the beach. it's a sun kissed sweat and not rank at all.

or when a guy does a light workout. it's not a bad smell at all to me.

It's kind of like how it's infinitely more difficult to tickle yourself. You know it's coming and unconsciously prepare for it. It's a lot easier for someone else to come up and tickle you.
