I cut my own hair out of convenience and cost. I alternate between using a Clipper and a Flowbee.

I try to put it off as long as possible. For instance, right now its been about 2 months and I am probably a week away from getting fired for looking like a mess lol.. How the hell can you go every 2.5 weeks for a cut?? Thats insane!

Well, I'm particular about my appearance and I don't look good with long hair or when my short hair starts to grow in...it gets curly on the sides and looks like ass. I'm not into dressing like a GQ Man (can't afford it anyway...) or anything like that, but neat and clean is important.

I also get a manicure every few months (no clear polish though!) just to keep the cuticles in check. Of course I don't go a few months w/o cutting my nails! I do that myself.

I didn't mind haircuts when I lived at home and was in school because the same guy cut my hair for like 10 years. I basically just walked in once every 2 months and didn't have to say a word and he always cut my hair just the way I liked it.

However, now that I've been moving about once a year, getting my hair cut is a total pain in the ass. It takes forever to find someone that can cut my hair consistently, and by the time I find them, I end up moving.

Argh.

I'm in the "I like how clean and fresh I feel after" crowd, but I hate paying for it. My dad was a barber for like 40 years, so I never had to pay for a haircut in my life till I moved away from home. I go once every month or so.

I would get it cut every week if I could. I go about every 2-3 weeks.

"Metal 2 on the sides and back, 1.5 around the ears, short 4 on the top, rounded and shave the neck."

Shower with exfoliating anti-bacterial soap every day.
Get my hair cut as rarely as possible.
Shave when I want to impress someone, which is no more than once a month.

I enjoy it immensely.

The way I think of it, the rest of the day after a haircut I'm looking as neat/clean as I can possibly be. Every day thereafter I inch towards having messy, uneven hair - even though realistically most people look their best five or six days after a haircut because it looks more natural.

At 28, my hair still grows at an incredible rate so I'm usually back in the chair every three weeks. If it didn't cost so much money, I'd be back every five days or so for a little cleanup work...

When my wife says she likes the length of my hair, then I have gone too long between haircuts.

It feels refreshing, but it's not a "favorite" thing to do. It's just a #8 clipper on top and #6 around the sides but I can't convince my wife to do it in order to save money. She's afraid she'll screw up and I'll look hideous... I may just do it myself next time.
