:wub::$:wub::awe:

Well, I do.

The Anti-entitled generation strikes back.

Edit: I guess I'd have to give some reasons...

One of the most, if not the most ethical financial investment firm out there.
Great people, most people I'm working with have been there for years, even decades.
Manageable politics
Great benefits
Our cafeteria has 4 60" plasmas that show ESPN Sports...

I like it enough to wait another 3 years until I'm fully vested in my 401k before I consider leaving

My 401K is vested immediately, don't you mean Profits Sharing?

Speaking of which, my company matches 2 - 1 the first $250, then 1 - 1 the next $250, up to 5% of salary. :awe:

Not really.

They just laid off some people a month ago from my department, and yesterday it looks like they let go the CEO (position is now "office" split between board of directors. They say it's because of the downturn in profit from the same time last year, but I think they are just cutting back to fund expansion.

Most places require time to vest. I assumed all until my current employer and it's immediate

I don't "love" my employer but we are happy enough together

He means 401k matching I'm sure, which I guess is what you're talking about. My company matches 100% on the first 4%, 50% on the next 4%. So 6% total matching. Fully vested after 4 years, 20% now and 20% per year.

Anyways, I like my company well enough, 2 months in. Laid back environment, I can have fun at work, but interesting and stimulating work. Benefits are great - pay about $40/mo for my health/dental/vision/life/D&D insurance, 401k matching, pension. I'm paid really well for a recent grad, and apparently the bonuses for entry-level employees are pretty generous (10-15%). Only thing I'm really concerned about is the upward mobility, but we'll see.

not really since they lowered my salary but at least I still have a job. When there is an issue I fix it and they like the quality of my work. They dont mind if I listen to pandora, do homework or browse ATOT as long as I do my work.

Well be honest, not everyone gets to work in a company like Google
In my case, I'd only love the company everytime I make some gains off their common stocks

Do you love your job/company enough to work for free? Assuming you have bills covered.

My job has it's ups and downs. Just holding out for something better rather than renting cars. Problem now is they don't give us enough stock, but overbook. So we get all the abuse.

I like the company I work for.

it might escalate up to love if our holiday policy didn't royally fuck me over (I work weekends; since holidays are "observed" on the nearest monday/friday, it doesn't count for extra money if a holiday falls on a saturday/sunday for the people actually giving up their plans and coming into work)

I worked for SunLife financial, and thought the same thing, until they laid off everyone in the division after about 20 years of operation :'(. I miss that job, worked from home and just vpn'd in. It was comfortable, sitting on my couch in sweatpants working with financial consultants. I loved that job, and hate all of my jobs since.

I do. I've worked for the US Army either part-time or full-time for over 15 years.

Not many jobs were you can work with computers AND blow shit up.

Do you get to blow up computers? I would love to do that every so often

Work for a big internet radio streaming company. Cool company!

No...but I'm happy to have a job.

Only match $0.25 on the dollar up to 5% of salary (i.e. I put in 5% and they put in 1.25% <--- sucks). Vesting 25% per year over 4 years on the match (i.e. takes 4 years before I get to keep all of the match).

Edit: Writing this from Idaho, where I'm located "on the job" for the next two weeks. Spending nearly 50% of my time traveling....and looking for a "good, less travel" job every chance I get.
